well since were having all the topics about ppl, i thought i would ask how many ppl would consider themselves a nerd. and also what u consider a nerd.

for me, this is a nerd:


i spend a decent amount of time on the computer/playing games, but im not even close to looking like/ being called a nerd

Why is this question even worth answering...or should I say why is it even worth asking?

I'm going to go make a thread titled "Are you a jock?"

Even if there was someone, they wouldn't say so lol.

I enjoy playing computer but I'm fine without it, it's just a thing I do to spend time, especially now that all my friends are on holidays and I'm stuck here -_-

i dont think i am, im not so bright in school but im good at video games specially mmo's and i skateboard

isnt it "in/stilo" to be a nerd geek or w.e else?
i hate these ppl who act nerdy to be cool. like say they only play pokemon red/blue cuz they were the best. or just w.e blehhhh

read comics. read books. halo 1 for pc(too poor to buy xbow360 and ps3)
and some other things
idc. you are who you are. these labels are dumb

I think nerds are more like these guys who rather spend a night playing computer rather than with the friends, wich leads to them not having any friends other than nerds like themselves.

make decent amount of money to have some expensive hobbies..RC helicopter / cars , home-built cockpit for ACE FIGHTER 6 / custom gaming rigs etc..I guess maybe to other people they might find my habits + hobbies a little nerdy..but I see myself as the regular pothead kid I was in highschool who had a C-grade average

you guys seem to mix up geek and nerd. Geeks are the ones who obsess over games like dota, and they arent necessarily smart

nerds are the ones who get good grades, and study engineering or math at some good college

I prefer the term Geek. I wear my Geek Badge proudly.

Geeks and nerds are both really good at some technical thing. The main difference is that geeks know how to socialize, whereas nerds do not.

Let's seeeee, I play lots of computer games, I've turned down hanging "out" with playing with my e-friends at times, I get a tingling sensation in my pants every time I buy something from Newegg - or even think of a Core i7.
I broke out pokemon and played it like 5 years after it wasn't popular (it's actually still a good game, lmao) but what does that have to do with anything..
I enjoy putting a computer together, or removing a nasty virus manually from my grandmothers computer.
I know some VB, re-learned some little things in DoS just because I was bored, dual booted XP and fedora dore 4 (linux) just for the experience. Know lots of random stuff like.. knowing the jist of what an autoit script is suppose to do by looking at the code, can read "1337 sp34k" at a glance, know what each connection my computer is connecting to and why.. etc
Does that make me a nerd or a geek? :o

Well that makes things clear.

I read comics and manga, watch anime, spend most of my time at my laptop (but don't ask me how it works, I still think it's magic) I write stories, speak english in 3 accents, able to speak it properly since I was 10, have a proper knowledge of history and art history, my best class is biology, play games, like chess, and I'm the top 3 of my class.

Though I do not concider myself as a nerd as I am much more then just the above.

I like watch anime and reading manga, i like to study english and i spend almost all free time on pc, Im a nerd, shoot me

I play on the computers and games and stuff, but life is more important to me. I play on the virtual world when theres nothing else to do lol.
