But if you want like do something else, more "romantic", than staying at home I would say take her/him to movie and some nice coffeehouse.

Take her/him to meet your parents. Your mother or father will cook dinner and you only have to pay for the gas to get there.

But seriously. Dinner + movie is good. Movie theater = expensive to a point. Coffee shop idea is a good end date area.

Depends on your definition of cheap. Picnics are fun and inexpensive or just buy food (pizza or whatever) and go to some nice place. Just know where to go - for example, I live in NY so an ideal place would be Union Sq. (went there with gf last week) or your own backyard (if you have a place to eat and a decorated place). Japanese (2 sushi orders with tempura or Bento), Chinese (orange chicken, dumplings, and siomai), or pizza would be a satisfying meal (using chopsticks is always alluring during dates for some reason - maybe you can even teach him/her).
Just remember to bring a condom or two. Always.

no i mean a real meal alright £1 is going a lil over the top but counting a pack of mince the rest comes down dirt cheap so 100% under £2
i do buy my food from the markets though so its cheaper then the supermarket and i get more for what i pay so if i pay £1 for carrots im not going to use them all maybe 1 or 2 out of the shit loads i get but cooking your own food if you dont go buy this over priced organic shit is cheap
