http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... 2.html?g=0Once-Trendy Crocs Could Be on Their Last Legs
Crocs were born of the economic boom.
The colorful foam clogs appeared in 2002, just as the country was recovering from a recession. Brash and bright, they were a cheap investment (about $30) that felt good and promised to last forever. Former president George W. Bush wore them. Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler wore them. Your grandma wore them. They roared along with the economy, mocked by the fashion world but selling 100 million pairs in seven years.
Then the boom times went bust, and Crocs went to the back of the closet.
"The company's toast," said Damon Vickers, who manages an investment fund at Nine Points Capital Partners in Seattle. "They're zombie-ish. They're dead and they don't know it."
Yes!

Finally...those are the most hideous things I've ever seen in my life. I don't care how comfy they are, you couldn't pay me enough money to be seen in public in those things.

I hate those things too! My wife bought me a pair, and they are comfy, but ugly as all get out.
They are nice to wear in the boat or in the pool, or maybe around the house. But I don't like wearing 'em in public. Plus I doubt they actually have any arch support whatsoever.

I wear them to school usually when I'm taking a big test or exam and need maximum comfort, but I wear them only as an ensemble with my sweat pants and muscle shirt. I hate the fact that people are so shallow about em
