would u people consider 168cm short? a friend of mine - age 22 - is bothered that the average girl beats him in height. this fact is making him sad. no, its not me, i am tall.

Why would it bother him that people are taller then him, there are still people that are shorter then him.

In Europe we measure in cm's. Well, 168 cm is pretty short. I'm 170 and I don't like it but I've never had complaints from girls about my height, mostly other guys like to make fun of the short guy but you gotta have the right attitude and you'll be just fine. I learned to deal with the fact that I'm short, your friends should too.

I say, you're wrong. Sure, it's ideal for males to be around 180, but having less doesn't mean they are short. In fact, it doesn't mean anything.

5'6", yeah they're short, big deal. As others said, not gonna kill him, it's what he makes of it.

Guess that's easy to say though, I'm 6'1".

But there are always smaller girls around, so it aint that big of a deal.

it's a little short, but it doesn't really matter. kinda depends on your country =/ the avarage dutch person can reach like 1.90 D: sometimes even 2...

Anyways. 5'6" isn't really short, just shorter than average. We need shorter people to have an average..

Almost the entire world except for countries that have ties to the previous British Empire, provided that are quite a few countries, but there's more that use cm.

But on topic: yes he should be terribly worried. His life is now officially worthless and suicide is all that remains.
Come on, seriously. As a small guy my entire life I can tell you there's really not too much about it. I some times get remarks about my length, positive and negative (mostly negative though) and that's it. It hasn't changed me a bit. Besides, it's rare to see a woman taller than like 1,75.

Most countries the girls actually don't even surpass the 1,70 mark. I think he should be fine with 1,68.
But is 1,68 short? Yes it is. We all have our shortcomings and we all have to learn to deal with them.

Im around 187cm last i checked. So yes, for me, very short.
