Many people just leave their computer idling 24/7 for different reasons. Here is a good better use for your computer while it is idling its life away.

FightAIDS@Home is a distributed project aims fight AIDS (hence the name) by running simulations on a vast number of computers to find a cure for AIDS. If you don't like to fight AIDS, you can also fight one or all of the following diseases/threats:

Childhood Cancer
Influenza Antiviral
Muscular Dystrophy - Phase 2
Human Proteome Folding - Phase 2
Dengue Drugs
Cancer
Nutritious Rice
The Clean Energy Project

Your computer needs to meet the following minimum requirement in order to help:
Processor 550 MHz
Memory 250 MB
Hard drive 600 MB (50 MB free)
Screen resolution 8-bit graphics at 800x600
Internet connection 40 kbit/s

Isn't this essentially the same thing as Folding@Home run by Stanford? :?

I'd rather spend my resources on Seti@home. Go aliens!
