i graduated from my bachelor in january, and always
planned to do a master study afterwards.
so i applied for uni in Delft like 5,5 weeks ago. they
told me they would look at my resume, portfolio, grades
and motivational letter and contact me within a week.
3 weeks later i decided to give them a call since i had
not heard from them still. told me they would call me
back thursday or friday, a week later.
the monday after that i decided to call them again since
i still hadn't heard anything. they told me to call them
back a week later.
i called them back a week later, they told me to call 4
days later.
that was today, and i called them again.
now they told me, half of the applicants were not allowed
in the uni, and i was amongst 10 applicants they want to
see more from before admitting me. so now i have to redo
part of my portfolio and motiavional letter to make it
more related to the study i chose.
sigh. so probably another week or 2 before i recieve that
in an official email, and then i can send in those two
things again, then wait some more.
and then i'm still not 100% sure it's all good. wtf
edit: yeah i know there isn't really a point, just my frustration -.-

Thats lame. I applied for a new job when I was 18, and they didnt contact me or call me back, or inform me about it for 6 months. When they called and offer me a job, it was laughable. That was 6 months ago, I already found a new job (And thankfully, cuz I make a lot more money)
I mean, whats that say about the organization? Hi, you ignore me or blow me off for 5-6 months without the courtesy to say yes, no or keep me informed ?

yeah this. when i started my bachelor i wanted to
do a 2nd study at the same time (it's free here to
do a 2nd one), which would be conservatorium (it's
music school idk what it's called in english).
well everytime i went there on a day we could learn
about the courses, there was nobody from the study
i wanted to apply for -.- i went there 2 times, found
nobody both times, said f.ck it and did 1 study lol.
such a pity. :[
what i find most annoying is that, when students
have to make a report and they're say 1 day late,
hell even one hour late with the delivery, they
just fail the course. and they are like 5 weeks
late and can still make me wait. but i can't push
them too much and piss em off because that will
just lead to them disapproving me for uni -.-
anywho, i'm much more positive now, because i
"passed the first stage" so to say, i'm not a total
failure in their eyes. they still have to get to
know me i guess <_< ima just make that stuff they
want me to, get into uni, and then life's good.
god i can't believe how tired i am of just hearing
this news. it's so releaving to at last hear SOME
news from them. or was i tired from work and from
knowing i have to drive home for several hours in
a few minutes O.o

Yeap same here. I'm doing IB english, and if we don't handin something in time, we just fail, but sometimes our teacher gives us back essays only after weeks. Once we received our marks for a test 2 months later

.
Teachers and schools can bend rules, students can't.

I know how you feel man x___X
Lately i've also been going insane over the fact that i have to tell Everyone what their job should be/what they have to do (like teachers, to enter my grades, or after you write a nice formal letter, and they reply with 2 words and then do not do what you asked for, or when you orderd sun screens, which never arived after 4 extra weeks of waiting and 10 more phonecalls, or when you order a sword on ebay, that never arrives, or my manager at work, to actualy write down what i tell the guy etc etc >.<)
I finaly passed the first year business economics now, but took ages to get it straight coz the school's 'system' said i had 17 out of 60 points, while at that time i had 42 >.>
Also got a nice letter at home to warn my parents that i was still under 1/4th of the needed points, while i was above 3/4th >.<, try explaining to your parents that your teachers are to retarded to enter a grade in their system xD
/end vent
So yea, i feel you bro- wish you the best of luck on it

And if those lazy people at the uni wont give you a proper treatment/reply now i'dd tell em to shuve it somewhere the sun wont shine

, and see if you can get some media publicity on it

and apply to a different university maybe

(though, lets just hope for a good reply, as they should give you ^^)

Poorly organized by Delft, but what can you do?
Universities in Holland aren't really overstaffed, so this is what we're gonna have to put up with for low cost and high quality bachelors and masters.

Wtf x__X ye im dutch, and i only know some countries where its basicly free/fully funded.
Its hard enough to pay 1600 euros a year + books etc

not to much gets financed (depending on your situation ofcource), if i had to pay 10k a year, from my own pocket, without a lottt of funding from the gouverment or so for it, i could never studie xD
Unless you borrow it all and start your life with a balance of -40.000 till -60.000

Thats kinda lame ^^ after you finish your master/bachelor, you would basicly have to work +/- 3 more years- or even more if you live on yourself aswell, just to pay back your debt ^^
That is ofcource if you keep it cheap and get a decent job, without buying a car or anything

thought i'dd never say this, but Go Dutch school system xD wasting all your money on it, but atleast you wont have a hugee debt ^^

i think you'll have to pay like 8k a year and tons
more for housing than we do lol.
it's only cheap for dutchies, they exploit foreign
students.
and yeah, i did pass round 1. going to bust my ass

I dont really know why the netherlands, its not about the stoner thing, I can smoke weed wherever the **** I want really.
I just want to go to Europe I always have. At some point during college I definitely want to study abroad over there, since I'm studying architecture I figure why not Europe?

I rent a place for like 250 euros per month, provided it's small but manageable for just a person. ~8000 euros a year would be about right, since they charge non EU students twice the price. Still, it was way cheaper for me compared to studying in Australia or Canada.

I haven't heard about the housing being more expensive. We get no rent compensation unless you have a house with your own kitchen and bathroom, but those are always taken.
My father's a professor for an international master program and his students are generally older so they can afford more, but I haven't heard anything about them paying more

seriously Cin if that was me, would of told them to **** off.
I mean do you really want to go to a university that cant even keep track of
who they are meant to call and when?
also even if you didnt get the place, its common politeness to phone or send a
letter saying you didnt get it.
