Mac VS. Windows; help me decide

I sold my old pc and current have enough to buy either:
an iMac (2009 version, 2,93 ghz one) with an extra led cinema display
or a core i7 920, 2x gtx 285, 6gb,an extra ssd and 2x a 23" samsung LCD.
If you could choose between those 2 systems, which one would you get.
iMac would be used for lightroom/photoshop exclusively and the core i7 for photoshopping and gaming

i have mac and pc, i would go for an PC.
spare your self a headache and get a pc. Mac OS misses so simple things that windows have already since win 95... and it works other way then windows.
if you aren't a experince mac user then go for PC + windows.

I wouldn't call myself a mac illiterate

, i use my father mac pro very often. But what worries me is that in 2 years time his macbook pro and mac pro both crashed and needed a new logic board, and since the iMac is such an all-in-one system if a small thing break you can immediately send the whole mac for repairs

That's from your inability, not the OS.

True,i recently got my 13" mac, and that thing got really good hardware spec, but i just couldn't do a simple task without difficulty, ( a simple copy paste was an disaster FOR ME). I'm an windows user, maybe that concludes allot.

Not to mention all the good new games are compatible on mac.
Mac = no game is an outdated statement.

i know but 2x GTX285>1x GT120 for me is a valid arguement.
at the moment i haven't made a decision yet. must be one of the more difficult choices

PC definitely.
I'm not a Windows loyalist or anything but there's just too many things I don't like about the Mac - overpricing being the primary factor for this; seriously, the idea of paying $1K+ dollars for a Mac with the same power as a $450 PC is simply out of my grasp. Plus, the fact that there's no right mouse button - it's like buying a car with no break pedal to me. In addition, there's a lot of things that aren't Mac compatible - like a lot of online games (eg. Cabal).
But if you want something that looks white, neat, and glowing - go waste your money on a Mac.
Then again, that's just my opinion.

I didnt say that games don't work on macs, however the topic starter said he'd use the mac for graphic design only. it just seems like a waste to me =/

+1 on the money part...
Also macs are the most overrated pieces of junk, along with the worst support team, worse than xbox... My friend called Mac and when they tried fixing it, they crashed his computer and he had to buy another one...

This must be retardest comment i've ever seen.
Maybe writer thought that theres is no right mouse button in Mac, since design is slick and clearly you can't see mouse "buttons" on Mac mouse. Well, there is right button!. Who would know that ?!.
Well, question is simple; Mac user. Every Mac takes whatever mouse you stick to it, if you don't like Mac mouse, for some reason.
Lastly; today you can run Windows on Macs (not talking about crossover), so there's no really reason go for PC.
If you're hardcore gamer, then i would go for PC -setup. Anything else; Mac.
I've been PC user over 20 years, started from C64 - Amiga and this year i bought Mac Pro 8-Core w/ 30" screen. I'll never go back. And if you look around you notice that Mac is very popular in many Professional fields eg. Video and Music. PC's are great for playing games and they're cheap, and you gotta change it once a year.
