So who do you guys think is the best guitarist atm?
IMO it's john frusciante. He puts his soul in his music. And he's very creative.

Hard to pick one but since someone already mentioned Michael Angelo Batio, I'd go for Paul Gilbert (RacerX / Mr. Big) simply because he's an underrated great guitarist.

In b4 Yngwie Malmsteen and Slash. (Slash is good but seriously, you can find better guitar players. And Malmsteen is just a complete self-absorbed douchebag).

The girl knows how to play the crowd. Decent bass player but calling her great (IMO) is almost an insult to the real legends.

Kostas Karamitroudis (Gus G).

I know he's not the whole crazy solo guy.
But I believe he gives me the same chills as a ripping solo would for you.

Well it depends on what type of guitarist you are talking about... interms of a show guitarist probably Steve Vai and Joe Satriani with Yngwie Malmsteen a close third. In terms of an actual Band guitarist rather an a showman I would probably go with John Petrucci simply because you never hear a bad guitar song that he plays in and especialy with Dream theatre and Liquid Tension he works very well with the keyboard is to create songs that with 99% of other guitarists you would need atleast 2 to pull off.

You pegged my picks, I grew up listening to Vai, Malmsteen and Satriani back in the 80's.

Dream Theater is good stuff.
