Fraps freezing game client during recording O.o

This is really annoying now, after about 10-20 seconds or so fraps will freeze my game client whilst recording! I use vista, however this never used to happen on my pc when i had it installed a few years back, ive searched google and allot are having the same issues. If i remember correctly, i have the same probs using wegame recorder too :( Any ideas why, or how to fix this?
