Just having fun.
x(x-x)=0
(x-x)(x+x)=0
x(x-x)=(x-x)(x+x)
x=x+x
Let x=1
1=1+1
1=2
Someones gotta win a cookie.
(Just found it funny that my entire Calc AP class, excluding the teacher, couldn't get it ^ ^)

Correct, if you plug in 1 in the start. However, working algebraically with the variables results in a different answer. I'm looking to see if anyone can point out the deviation in the original work provided.

its simple (x-x) cancels each other out
x(x-x)=(x-x)(x+x)
-(x-x)
x=x+x
if x = 1 then 1=1+1

I dont think you can go backwards...
x(x-x)=0
x²-x²=0 ( How do you know [x²-x²=0] = [(x-x)(x+x)=0] )
(x-x)(x+x)=0

So far all you've found is that there is, in fact, a problem.
