I don't really give a damn about what or who people marry, but why don't traditional marriage lovers don't fight divorce or something

It was okay to begin with. Why is it not okay to hold a certain opinion based on religious background? Sounds like the media is discriminating to me. Miss California would have been long forgotten by now if she had been pro gay. Political correctness FTL. (no offense, but I find no problem with gay marriage)

and here was me expecting better from the big man himself...
anyone who voted yes on prop 8 to "Keep marriage traditional"
1. doesn't understand what the fight for gay marriage is really about. 2. doesn't believe in separate church and state. 3. doesn't understand what equal rights mean.
now those clowns up there are ignorant 12 year old white boys who will never face adversity in their lives...whats your excuse....

Marriage has been turned into a complete joke. Its nothing like it was before in the "old days". Look at the "divorce" rate among couples - get married, stick it out a whopping 2 years (sometimes less) then divorce it up like it meant nothing. Its almost pointless to even get married anymore, its now just paperwork and visits to a courthouse

Nonetheless, issue 8 is a voter choice. You shouldnt be flamed voting one way or the other. Thats the whole point of the voting process. Its no different than flaming someone for which president they voted.
Flaming someone for a yes/no vote is like saying it shouldnt even be an option to vote on, because your opinion matters and other peoples opinion doesnt

an ignorant vote is a wasted vote....like i said if you voted on prop 8 to "Keep marriage traditional" you voted in ignorance because thats not what prop 8 or gay marriage is about...
it would be like voting for obama solely because he's black...or voting for McCain just because he's the republican nominee...yeah its your choice but if all the thought you put into prop 8 was "marriage should be traditional" you really didn't put any thought into that vote at all and that is my problem with that statement...
FYI...I flame ignorance into the ground...

I could see how if his only argument was "Because its traditional" might aggravate, but he could have voted one way or another for 100 reasons. And instead of rehashing those 100 reasons or debating those reasons (I myself hate political and ethical debates too) simply writing 'voted to keep traditional' rather than writing '100 reasons'
Who knows?
And on that topic (edit: of voting McCain), I almost always vote republican, but I was sick of the shitty job they've been doing with the country for the last 8+ years and decided to change it up, even if democrat didnt exactly jive with my normal opinions. Besides, having a black president is pretty historic and would do a lot to quelm differences.

There are a lot of ignorant voters out there unfortunately, lol. However, what proposition 8 did was to add that marriage is explicitly between a man and a woman. Prior to that for "traditional marriage" it was an unspoken rule that it was between a man and a woman. Therefore, I do not find it all that ignorant to say that prop 8 kept marriages "traditional".
However, this is an absurd concept because marriages are no longer traditional. I agree with Ryoko that "traditional marriages" have long lost their meaning. It has changed from a "2 people joined as one to stick together through thick and thin" into "2 people joined as one until one of them gets bored and leaves/cheats". (OFFTOPIC : this mindset is totally related to SRO bots btw, where they cheat whenever they get bored.)
Additionally, I'm a firm believer that anything they add to the lawbooks is another shackle placed on the people as a whole.

there is no commitment to marriage anymore, thats why many fail. Its much easier to cheat or just get a divorce.

Ironic you say you flame ignorance to the ground. Your logic is that if someone doesn't agree with you, they're wrong. That's ignorance.
