Not your lifes goals, the dreams you have when you sleep.

What do you think they mean? Anything? Nothing?
Throughout history dreams have been used for healing, guidance, among other things.
In the bible God talks to people through their dreams. Native americans used them for "vision quests" (from wiki, lol) and used by europeans until the early 1900s.

Some more recent theories say that they are just random images put together from a part of your day, help to solve a problem your conscious mind cannot, or just images used to keep you asleep while external events happen (cars outside, tv, fans, etc.)

Anyway, post your opinions. Maybe even some dreams that you remember.. yes I had a dream last night that made me post this, no I won't post it because then someone is bound to say something along the lines of "this is a gaming forum, go suck a cack"

Maybe some dreams relate to real life issues, but I don't think mine do.

Or maybe they do, but I don't look at it that way. Anyways, I just can't find any real meaning in my dreams. Last night I dreamed about something really vague. I was walking around with some woman and then we ran across a football field where some little kids were playing. That was it. What the hell am I supposed to learn from that? I often have such vague dreams that I can't really connect them with my own life.
I would really like to be able to experience lucid dreams, but it's a lot of effort and I'm too lazy.

i think dreams are just little peices of memory being put together into one or several really nice/scare/funny/nonsensical kind of cinematic experience while someone is asleep. the brain may put together what the person went through in the past, or even make an image of a strong feeling you had, like losing someone you love and make it graphic. for example, flying, that may be a interpreted as you trying to break free from stress or something similar.
i also think that dreams have alot to do with that "hidden" self, able to do things that the "conscious you" would want to do, but normally wouldn't do. like wet dreams, when you're having sex with that one person you really like, but that person is completely off limits.

what i like about my dreams is that most of the time i can remember them, i think that has to do with the time you wake up from the dream.
i've had a few "falling from a building" dreams, a few wet dreams some even with the same person or a few people kind of like an orgy.
i've also had really strange dreams where i kill everything i see.
flying, is also very common. i've had that a few times.

or more scary dreams like a big giant monster with a spike club following me, blood was dripping from his mouth and he had no eyes, but somehow he could see me. i hid behind some boxes, but then i realized i had no legs to keep`running, so my mother came out of nowhere and told me "baby, don't be afraid" and the monster turned into my brother. and i woke up. i was like wtf?
there's also the train dream, where almost every member of my family is running away from a train and the train crushed fkin everyone, and just before it crushed me i woke up.

Dreams are impressions u can't digest througout the day, i think.

But no matter what they are, i love dreams

Dreams, Dreams... its great to Dream sometimes, but not too much.
I mean, you get unsatisfied, since everything is not real and makes you feel bad

Like i remember, long time ago i had a dream that i've been on Japan.
On dream i swear it was real. Too bad when i woke up, seeing myself on my bed -sigh-

i once dreamt i was a octopus and sank ships that Britain would send for my capture and or death

I have recurring dreams about tornados and being chased by people trying to kill me. Not in a scary way, but in an adventurous cat and mouse kind of way. They usually end up being like action movies in my head. I like them. I never remember dreaming about people I know or anything in my daily life. Which is fine by me I don't know if they mean anything, it's just your brain firing random synapses while you're sleeping right?

Uhm, no. Im sure in every dream I can fly, other powers sometime happen, sometime doesn't, or I just simply don't use it at all.

I hardly ever dream and when i do, every dream ive had had some weird messages in em. One time i dreamt i was a farmer and had a walking talking tree.. but then it died. When i woke up that very same day in school my friend had to water some plants and one of the young trees had died o_O. Ive also had other similar occurrences involving my I.T. exams.....

sometimes it's just things you want to happen deep in your mind and you won't admit, or sometimes there are messages... I know it sounds weird but I had dreams that kindof "predicted" what was goin to happen soon, one way or another.

probably weirdest thing ever was dreaming same thing 3 times in a row, one morning. I kept finding a notebook with very weird stuff written in it, some things were death-related in the strangest way possible, words I have never heard before, had to look in a dictionary. There were also some numbers and days, but nothing really happened those days lol..

Yeah I've had some dreams that are hard to separate from reality. In psych class we learned a few theories on dreams, the one that stuck out to me was that dreams are your minds "recycling" system, your mind is sifting through the information it collected that day and is getting rid of the things it labels "useless".

well, that's kinda a domination power. Whenever i feel like having sex with someone, none girl in the dream can say the word "no". They just can't deny or hit me

Died from a broken heart. Well that one may become true.

I don't think I survive in my dreams too much.

I've always died or barely escaped from death in my dreams from when I was young too lawl. I usually woke up by dreaming I fell from the sky to my bed lol

I dream A LOT! I don't think it really means anything, usually my dreams are as random as hell! Like once I was in a massively huge, completely white room and there was a single needle on the ground, I had reall really big fingers without any finger nails and for the whole dream I just tried to pick the needle up. I've had that dream countless times and I've never succeeded in picking the needle up =[

i've gotten as far as continuing a previous dream, once i was dreaming about my english teacher from 3rd grade which was really hot, and we were making out on somekind of rooftop. i woke up, went to the kitchen, drank some water then went straight to bed, and BAM there she was again. that was fkin awesome.
or knowing i'm dreaming in my dream, but the dream is so cool i just don't wanna wake up. but once you know you're dreaming in your dream, it's pretty hard not to wake up..
