House imagined the entire night with Cuddy, both the sex and the detoxing off vicodin. His mind tricked him into believing that his vicodin was lipstick. At the end, when he finally figured it out, Amber and Kutner came back as hallucinations and he checked into the mental hospital because he realized he was truly insane.

But that means that:

that was an awesome storyline, i predict now house has to go through est, but est do not cure schizophernia so like in the movie beautiful mind he will live with the hallucinations and thus making the new season even more interesting

Yea that was a great episode. I wish I could say I saw it coming, but I totally didn't. There were so many subtle hints the whole way though, very nicely done. I liked the way they tied everything in. As far as what happens next, I put my thoughts in the spoiler.

They led this episode in with right brain/left brain issues, so maybe they're trying to tie that into what's happening to him. The way I see it they have a couple options, ranked in order of liklihood.
1. He actually has split brain or something else wrong with him that's mimicking mental illness, maybe due to lingering effects of trauma from the accident, him getting shot, whatever. He has to figure it out while he's in the psych place so they can cure him. No one believes him, he has a whole internal struggle with his halucinations, he has to present proof, he does something crazy like leave and make his team treat him for it, fascinating TV. They drag it out like they did the Amber death episode, then they do surgery or cure him, and he's back to business as usual House. Ratings go through the roof.
2. It's the vicadin and he detoxes for real. Not sure what they would do with him from that point on. Kind of takes away something interesting and destructive about his character.
3. He pretends to get cured in the psych place, and goes back to practicing medicine even though he's bat shit nuts. Also interesting TV, would get really old pretty quick. I doubt this one a lot.

Just watch it on Hulu, they won't stop broadcasting the stupid ads in U.S.

I like the storyline with House but the camera work is getting really annoying. It's obvious they're trying to make it more edgy and raw, but it just doesn't work, go back to the old camera style =( And yes, good season finale.

On a related note, 2 more episodes and Jack Bauer dies!
