I think yes, damn.
Since my sister got a Vaio Laptop (I was planing to steal it from her xD) and lately, my uncle's back from his trip to China just bought a new Laptop for my cousin (a Hp Pavilion dv5 SPECIAL EDITION - white one) [I don't dare to touch this one since every Pc i touch, it's gets infected lmao xD].
I always loved the Notebooks because the facility to take it everywhere.
So, i am thinking to buy a new one, a "gaming" kind laptop.
Also, i've been thinking about getting a Mac, just because is so fashioned
(But anyways, can someone explain me some differences?)
And another question should be: If it is for gaming why not a Desktop PC? Idk.
Since i'm a college student, it would be helpufully to take the laptop to my college for works. right? And yeah, it should be more cheap than a laptop.
But meh, i've been using laptops since my last visit on Hawaii. My dad bought me a really cheap yet powerfull HP laptop (In that time - 2006). 80gb, 512 Ram, 17'' WideScreen Hp pavilion zv6000, but it's wasn't really a laptop, it was more like a mini desktop lol
So, i own it since 2006... so thats about a bit more than 3 years.
Is 3 years too soon to get another laptop? Maaaaybe yes, cause in that time i was just being such a "n00b gamer" so i didn't cared of my Laptop's "health"
Anyways... but since its being crappy...
In those 3 years i added 512 extra ram and 80Gb Hard drive. Oh, and a 19'' WideScreen Monitor LG.
And it went even more crappy since i started to play often Silkroad cause my Graphic Card exploded (Literally). It's overheat over time now on almost every game i play (It's lags showing fps if i don't use an "extra fan" above it.)
That's why i bought the monitor, it's annoys me the hell because if i block the fan output, it's overheat even more faster. (That's why i'm using my laptop as a CPU. What i mean? Check this LOL.)
If you ask about why i didn't use Laptop Docks...I just found it too late. But no, i'd preffer wasting money in a new brand lap than investing on the old one who is going to die soon
Also my DVD Driver is messed up. I can't even read a single CD, but if i can it's a miracle.
Even so, i never dropped it or exposed to heat or whatever.
ANYWAYSSS, the fact is i don't know really much about computers specs or prices.
But now, is really a 1.000$+ laptop worth it to get?
I need some advices like the best comps specs with the lowest prices maybe?
I mean a Quad Core is good, but its kinda expensive. So Dual 2 Core is perfect.
Also i don't have any idea of what graphic card to get for a decent gaming laptop.
I know Laptops are NOT really suited for gaming, but as i said above.. i love laptops for the facility to take it everywhere
Then my really point of this thread is this question: Is worthing getting a decent laptop for more than 1k USD$ nowdays?
Or you think to stay with the one i still have? (I can survive, but the idea of getting a new one just excites me lol)
I build this laptop like one hour ago just for fun. http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/8797/myhdx16tseries.jpg (Btw, can you build your own laptop? lol)
Well, everything here are just thoughts. Maybe yes or maybe no i'm getting a new lap.
and thanx for your help in advance.
