For gamers only... ?



I played both games and i liked them.. But between Designers, i just found them very similar since both now have careers on rather similar footings, though their design styles could not be further removed from one another.

Veteran Final Fantasy designer Tetsuya Nomura, of Square Enix, is here pitted against veteran Gears of War designer Cliff Bleszinski, of Epic Games

It may be rather trite, but this definitely appears to be a case of East vs West; both styles are almost bordering on the absurd, although they do not necessarily look the worse for it.

So, Which is your choice?
For me, since i like RPGs... :]

I'm a huge SE fan, and I think they just look plain old better. So Enix for me!

Enix has had some pretty interesting designs, Epic have used the same ones over again.

Cliffy B killed UT with Gears, but I'll choose him over Nomura and his tired RPGs.

I said some.

Epic uses the same style over and over. If someone showed me a picture of the GoW2 and told me it was UT3, i wouldn't doubt them.

That's funny, because people often criticize Nomura for over-using the same style of "an unnecessary amount of belts, buttons and zippers on every character". Epic has only had the same style since UT3 and Gears. Everything before that is very diverse.

SE most of there rpgs are awsome (FF, The last remnant, and especially KH series) always hated gears of war

Nomaru is a nightmare. every franchise he touches turns into 18 games that have to be played on 18 different systems to get half the story while you wait 4 years for the original story to just continue on the original system. Not to mention that his limited character design which feeds into every anime cliche making every FF game he's a part of look like a cast of the same people with different colored hair aka Toriyama Syndrome....


but im not a big fan of the gears franchise either which suffers from alot of things im not going to take the time to rant about...


if this is a lesser of two evils thing i'd rather not choose....

Epic, I hav never really been a fan of FF or SE games for that matter.

There's more depth in Nomura's designs, imo. So, Tetsuya Nomura of Enix all the way.

Final Fantasy (The best product prolly from Enix) has nothing to do with any other version of FF story-based... FFIX has nothing to do with FFIII... totally different story/world/characters.
(You have point at FFVII here --> FFVII (PSX/PS3), FFVII: Crisis Core(PSP) & FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus (PS2), but still - thats only 1 of 13 FF series).

The KH franchise....the FFXIII franchise....all of which have been split into, at the very least, 3 separate games....FFX as well, it only had 2 games but those were good awful...

I gave "some" examples. Kinda bored with the girly boys of Square Enix, that's why I dropped Final Fantasy games after X.

Not a game, it's from the beginning of the movie "Heat" where Robert DeNiro and a few other masked guys rob an armored truck in broad daylight.

The mission in GTA 4 where you rob the bank with Packie is based on the robbery from this movie.

Epic purely because Cliffy B is a badass.
