if one man can make 3 tables then what is the amount of men that is need to make 1 table
first i thought
since 3tables : 1 man
so 1 : 1/3
but since we want how many men and i never heard of 1/3 men so should it be only natural number also if so
would it be like this
from 1 table to 3 is 1 man
from 3 tables to 6 is 2 men?
and so on?

if one man can make 3 tables, then one man can make 1 table

One man can make 3 tables...then 1 man could also make 1 table. Nope i definitely did not do any math there.

but why dont you say 1/3 man can make 1 table because the question is how many men (needed) therefore not more than needed

Because like you said, you can not have 1/3rd of a man.. The minimum amount of men neeed to do anything is 1, so 1 can make 3...and he can also make 1.

but if i were to solve it mathematically it will be like this
x=table y=man
y=3x
1/3y=x
so is it mathematically right but wrong in real life...?

That's how I see it, yes. Unless it's a riddle...then it may have a tricky answer.

math also involves common sence, therefor you don't kill people just so they can only make 1 table.

What if 3 tables are needed to make one man? D:

1 man, he just wastes 2/3rds of his time.

This is an example of math questions that need to be worded more carefully.
If you think of it in pure math terms, then your answer of 1/3 of a man is correct.
However, since they use the "man" as the X you are caught in a paradox between logic and math. As you logically know that a "man" has to be an integer, since you can only have a whole man. Which in this case would be 1, since as stated before. If 1 man can make 3 tables, then he can make 1 of the 3 tables.

If this is homework of some kind, put down 1. If the teacher says it's wrong, tell him he's wrong.

ofc you do... Why wouldn't you?

I think it should have said X can not be smaller than 1.

this question actually continues as it says if the daily made tables are 99 then how many men should be in 2 days to change the production to 150 for 2 days
with same rule which says 1 man : 3 tables

99/3=33
150-99=51/3=17
33+17=50
or just 150/3=50 if i understood the question correctly

oh sorry i meant how many men should be absent to make the production 150

8 of them would be absent to make production 150.
99 in one day = 33 people.
33 people x 6 = 198
48 / 6 = 8 people.
Is this your homework or something??

not really it is from an arabic book i got which is called in english "math in real life" or some thing like that
that is why the questions aren't clear since i am translating them

I think the "Math in Real Life" allows you to use both math, and logic. For the first question, it's one, because logically 1/3 a man doesn't exist, unless you hire a midget.

Question can be translate like this
Y=3X, X is natural.
