I had to reinstall iTunes today and I don't save any of my songs because I've used iTunes for like 3 years and every song that I download goes straight to iTunes. But today I reinstalled and when I synced my iPod to iTunes I got this annoying ass message: iPod can only be synced to one iTunes would you like to erase and sync. I'm like WTF this must be a joke, so I checked my library and it was empty . So I tried to import my library on my iPod to iTunes but it wouldn't allow me to import from my iPod. What type of two bit developers make a mp3 complete with a music storing program but they won't allow you to import from the mp3?!!!! my music, my videos...all gone!!!. I HATE YOU APPLE! But seriously can anyone help me?

Use a third-party importer.

There's actually a strong counter suit to that.
In order for Apple to appease the record label companies, it had to make sure such large volumes of artistic property (up to what, 120gb or something?)wasn't so easily transferable.

The actual files btw are just 'hidden' in your iPod, just like any other computer file you might 'hide' through the Properties menu.

But anyways, just use a good 3rd part prog.

Ah crap I need to do this too. I don't wanna' transfer everything via flash drive from one computer to another. It's fucking ridiculous that Apple wants to be a bunch of **** about this.

edit: even after i managed to transfer the songs from my ipod to my computer, apple never fails to be a dickless prick to their customers. there's some songs there that i unfortunately purchased from their store like 4 years ago on a different account with an expired (banned) e-mail and I could not, by any means, remember my fucking password. So now...what the fuck?

anyone have an apple security breaking program? they're MY songs and I can't even listen to them on this laptop.

or a good place to download free music since i stopped using sharazza and limewire

update: i played the guessing game and i won. took me like 30 min to figure out a way around it though.

Just do it yourself, **** 3rd part things.

Open up itunes, hit "don't sync" or "cancel" or whatever pops up when it asks you if you want to erase and sync
Go to the ipod tab
Hit "Enable Disk Mode"
Close iTunes
Go to "My Computer"
Open up the ipod folder
Do "Tools>Folder Options>View>Show hidden files and folders"
Copy hidden folder "Ipod_Control" to where you want it on your harddrive
Right click the newly made copy, hit properties
Uncheck the folder attributes "Hidden"
Open up iTunes
Now import your music from the folders inside of "Ipod_Control>Music" (The files are named stuff like "FF00", "FF01", etc)

Now you're done, badass

Yup, that's what I said ^ ^

If you use the 3rd party program, it's better to use "Open" and instead of the "Quick" option since Quick makes it freeze sometimes.
