Why do many think Americans are stupid?

im tired of hearing non-American people locally, tourists, and people who are in ventrilo and myspace say or ask if americans are really stupid. i mean lol what do they know about what's going on here and where did they all get the idea from?

Why are.. all Australians convicts and ride Kangaroos to school/work. We also 'throw shrimp on the barbie' all day while being extremely racist.
