im looking into upgrading my laptop's ram from the current 1gb to 4gb. what factors do i need to look at in order to buy rams that would work?
this is the current ram in my laptop:
http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/677608 ... -3s-b.htmlit's a 1gb ram that comes in 2 sticks. so im planning on take both out and putting in 2 sticks of 2gb each (making a total of 4gb). what do i need to worry about other than the 200 pin connection?

Make sure your laptop can handle all that ram upgrade. I reccomend using
http://www.crucial.com/ if you haven't, it's a very useful site. Are you sure your laptop use's DDR2 memory? lol just make sure thats what your laptop takes, also crucial tells you that too. Good luck

when I had x32, I could see 3.5gb, but only really use like 3.2gb or so. I think vista is running a lot smoother after upgrading to x64. It uses 45% of the 4gb ram after booting. If you dont need the performance/memory space then 3gb should be fine.
