Messenger problem on vista

i can't install windows live messenger, it gives me an error
after about 65% of the installation process. anyone else
experienced trouble installing this on vista, or is it just
me? i tried shutting down all other programs i had running,
there's nothing wrong with my internet connection.. idk what
the problem might be.

My Msn has been acting like a tool for a little over 1 week now, I manage to get on line for a few minutes then it kicks me off. Then when I try to reconnect it shows some error code. Which is pretty rare since overall I had almost no problems with Msn. At any rate, it's frustrating.

I use vista and the only trouble that I've had with Msn is that it sometimes losses it's connection for a second.

Do this.
Change the date on yr computer, your msn will be OK again. Apparently its a bug. If your date is reset, yr msn hates you and won't let you use it. If its not reset, just change it to other date for awhile.

fixed. installed vista updates, now all works fine lol.

i was getting a lot of problems too, so i tried installing different versions of it and none worked except v 8.1 which has most of the same features that the new one has
