In other words, while it doesn't actually own your photos, scribblings and status updates — you do — Facebook can do whatever it wants with it, whenever it wants, in order to promote itself or create or sell ads.

But what are they actually going to do with some of my photos though? I have some random holiday photos, photos of around my area, some of me when I was 5 years old and some recent photos of me.

A big issue is if you join the military or other government agency and you go up for a clearance, if you have any friends on facebook that are from overseas (only if you are US citizen) you have to answer how you know them what there address is, a contact phone number and they will be subject to investigative questioning on your behalf.
