How to impress a girl?

Post by Crowley »

So I recently moved schools and met this great new girl, she's really cool and we really get along. How can I get her to like me?

Some advice from the experts please! (No Kirk, you're not an expert)

Make her laugh. Don't pretend to be a macho, manly man, that's just lame and makes you seem like a douche.

That's the problem, don't try and force her to like you, but rather be yourself and let her get to know you more. If she is going to like you it will be for who you are, how you act naturally, not what "stunts" you can pull off or any cheesy words you can say. Just be yourself, stay calm and just hang out with her as friends. If it's meant to be then it will happen. If not, you have a great new friend.

Yeah but it's not always easy to be 'yourself' around a girl that you really like. Personally I don't fall for girls easily so I really don't wanna mess anything up because well, I probably won't like anyone for my high school years again >.>

It actually is, its easier if anything. When i like someone i am, typically, really good friends with them and get along with them well. So i don't change from that attitude. I simply act normal and just chill, talk and be my usual self. Just because i have feelings for someone it doesn't mean i cant hang with them as i did when i was their friends. Give it a go, its not that hard at all.

The right answer will not be found on a gaming forum. Or any forum. Of on the internet at all for that matter.

MtTwilliger's points are common sense points. If you like a girl, why would you try to not be yourself just to impress her and make her like you? That's dumb, and then she ends up liking a fake you. Be yourself, if it's going to happen, it'll happen.

You obviously haven't dated then. NO ONE is themselves, everyone acts different to impress their mates, then along the road you find out the real truth.

As for me, I got lucky. I found the girl I shared a lot in common with and I liked, skipped all the usual BS of waiting around and went for it. So far 3 months into the relationship and still going smooth.

I've dated. Anyone who has to act differently to impress a girl is a tool and doesn't deserve her. Be yourself and shit will happen on its own.

Oh no, I agree. I just think immaturity is dumb. In real life, I'll walk away from someone being immature because they think it's funny. It's not funny, it's stupid. Grow up. /mini rant

Well... theres all this theory and crap. Basicly if your only 100% nice-guy you''ll become a good friend thats it. So not so many times you gotta be a bit lame.

Imo be yourself you'll see if magic happens or not, or w/e. Ask Cin hes a real charmer lad, PM him for some advice

Oh, how wrong you are my friend, how wrong you are. I have found that getting my feet wet and rolling in the mud for her, was far more productive. :>

Follow your heart and let your feelings guide you, don't smother or choke the words in your Heart, doing so is smothering the truth. Show her what makes you tick, then she will decide if she wants to act as your clockmaker. :3 If she still likes you even though you told her certain things, it means she has a decent grasp of who you really are inside. And she is more then capable of making up her own decisions about you. If you have love in your life it can make up for a great many things you lack. If you don't have it, no matter what else there is, it's not enough. Love is more than just a feeling: it's a process requiring continual attention. Loving well takes laughter, loyalty, and wanting more to be able to say, "I understand" than to hear, "You're right." Kind words can be short and easy to speak but their echoes are truly endless. So that gut wrenching feeling inside you? Thats love my friend, waiting for your brain to merely De-activate itself.

Here's one of my favorite quotes:
Free love? As if love is anything but free! Man has bought brains, but all the millions in the world have failed to buy love. Man has subdued bodies, but all the power on earth has been unable to subdue love. Man has conquered whole nations, but all his armies could not conquer love. Man has chained and fettered the spirit, but he has been utterly helpless before love. High on a throne, with all the splendor and pomp his gold can command, man is yet poor and desolate, if love passes him by. And if it stays, the poorest hovel is radiant with warmth, with life and color. Thus love has the magic power to make of a beggar a king. Yes, love is free; it can dwell in no other atmosphere. :)
Ok. One more then.

Have you even been in love? Horrible, isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens your heart and it means someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses. You build up this whole armor, for years, so nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life.. :D

Almost every young relationship is just bs and giggles. Its not hard for an actual connection with someone, just find the right one, then one day you'll find the one. Most of the time it just happens. But no you don't have to be someone different, that can cause a bit more stress on a relationship, but if your in high school its ok...its just lies and bs there. Better to just be yourself...if she doesn't respond then move to someone new...never change yourself for anyone.
