Baby-faced Alfie, who is 13 but looks more like eight, became a father four days ago when his girlfriend Chantelle Steadman gave birth to 7lb 3oz Maisie Roxanne.
He told how he and Chantelle, 15, decided against an abortion after discovering she was pregnant.
The shy lad, whose voice has not yet broken, said: “I thought it would be good to have a baby.
“I didn’t think about how we would afford it. I don’t really get pocket money. My dad sometimes gives me £10.”
Alfie, who is just 4ft tall, added: “When my mum found out, I thought I was going to get in trouble. We wanted to have the baby but were worried how people would react.
“I didn’t know what it would be like to be a dad. I will be good, though, and care for it.”
Alfie's story, broken exclusively by The Sun today has sparked a huge political storm with Tory leader David Cameron saying: "When I saw these pictures this morning, I just thought how worrying that in Britain today children are having children.
"I hope that somehow these children grow up into responsible parents but the truth is parenthood is just not something they should be thinking about right now."

I read about it when I was at work last night and even then I thought, that's just insane. He doesn't even have a basic concept of money or the world around him. Let alone being capable of making the right decisions for his "Family." They probably get a discount when they go to Disney Land though.

Had a 13 year old mom/dad at my school (now 16, mom into heavy drugs but the dads normal). It's nothing new or surprising and there's many..many more. Only difference in this case is the guy looks like he's 4.

what about back then, if you can't feed your family, that would be YOUR problem. now? you'll probably go to the government and ask for social aid, making it OUR problem
just like that calgary woman who already have 6 kids, then she decided to have a procedure done to get 8 kids. if you are a wealthy woman who can support your kids, kudos to you. but NOOOO, she is a single unemployed mom

bah read about it they blamed the parents but you cant stop 2 people having sex, and tbh i dont agree with abortions so if they feel the same way otherwise i doubt it would be here

It's almost turning sad really. Then the baby might not even be his? At any rate it seems to me like he's overcompensating for his father's absence.
Whether there's something wrong with him or not, it's still pretty bold for a kid his age to say he stands up for the baby's mother. Whether he still feels that way after the DNA test remains to be seen.. Definitely tracking this read though.
