sorry, i dont know jack shit about chemistry. i barely pass that class because i cheated on the final exam by copying someone else paper :(

but that isnt something i remember doing in chem, is that a general chem class or some other chem?

It's not homework, It was a project that i was suppose to pick compound names i find on food at my house, but i never learned those. =clueless...

ot, i dont think those chemical have oxidation #.. its all neutral as a whole lol but i might be wrong

I think i figured some of them out, i need this one:
C12H17N4OS
or
Thiamin mononitrate

also, this one:
C12H19Cl3O8 Sucralose , i guessed +24 but can someone confirm it?

I presume you need oxidation state.

lol...the charge on it (sucralose) would be 0 because it's a nonpolar sugar.

But, I'm not quite sure what you're asking for. Can you write the directions as your teacher gave it? I should be able to help =P (I'm an M1)

find formulas on food you have at home
-write the formula
-write the compound name
-write the charge

Write the charge? Not many foods are ions...

For easy foods though go with aromatic compounds (benzene ring would be easiest, just make sure there are enough pi electron clouds and it's conjugated before you call it benzene). Almonds, vanilla, all that flavoring.
