Biotechnology or Electricity?

Hey guys. So next year I`ll be in 10th grade.. And we have to choose a subject which we will learn in the next 3 years, and will be tested for the final exams.. The problem is, I cant decide which one to choose... I really liked the Biotechnology lesson. Its very interesting. Some of my friends are going there, and people I`d really like to be in a class with..Also a girl I like will be there.. But it may be difficult for me since its some kind of an excellence class. I also liked Electricity. At the end of school (12th grade) I may graduate not only with school diplome like everyone, but also with an electricity diplome, which will allow me to get a better work after millitary, while I`ll be studying for an injeneer..Also, if I`ll go to Electricity, I`ll get a good job in the militery.. Developing some devices, robots etc.. I`m confused... That electricity diplome is awesome.. But I really liked Biotechnology too.. >.< Anyone got an advice for me?

you should do what you like. And if you want to develop weapons for the military its going to take more than a high school diploma to do that. Go to college first

The thing is, I like both.. About developing weapons.. Its not that its gonna be my job in my life.. In Israel, when we graduate, we go to the military for 3 years.. And where to go, we decide at 17 y.o when we go there for the first meeting. By choosing Electricity, I`ll be able to go to a good base. It means I wont be in the Fighting base, where I might get on the fire front... There, I`ll be developing and building some things to improve the military technology. And no, I wont need to go to college for that. I`m going to learn how to do that in the military. After the military, I`m planning on studying injeneering.. What I need to get to a good university, is at least 7 technology parts. I`m going to do 10 on both.. So it wont change anything.. But still, I think Electricity will be more usefully for me, in the future..
Damn I hate to choose between 2 things -.-

Why would a 15/16 year old need to know about Bio-techology?

America is so big there are so many different levels of education so you cant look only at one aspect and decide that every american high school doesn't offer a good education. My high school is only a public school but it offers around 20 college level courses and I'm taking AP chemistry and AP calculus right now. So please stfu with your anti-american posts, Americans aren't stupid.

im going to go out on a limb and say schools like that are a rarity in America which is a shame...my school offered 3 AP courses, History, English, and Calc...My mother was a teacher in the Philadelphia School district and helped create the standardized state test for Science so i have a pretty good idea of where the school system was in that department both in Philadelphia and in the surrounding areas...not even the closest richest suburb i know around here for at least 5 miles around offers an education like that...

that sucks actually, to think that we got good stuff and other places are poor. I hate how the education system isn't nationalized in america. We just let states control the system and they just
fuck around.

Just look at what you're saying, and then you tell me I can't say the American education system is bad?

not bad enough for you to say that you can't get a good education inside america.
The education is SO bad that only 17 out the top 20 universities in the world are in america.

Yeah, and for how many average joe's with brains is it possible to get there?
In America you need money to get a real good education whereas elsewhere you need the only proper requirements: dedication and skills.
People who go to private schools have a huge advantage getting into great universities in America. Just look at Xemnas's case: normal public school and very limited university options. And what could he do about it? I'm assuming there was no possibility to go to private school because of money and just like that your chances to get into a good university are decreased by 50% at least.
If because of things like the funds of your parents limit your educational chances and therefor limit your chances to climb the social/educational ladder the system is broken.

Not gonna argue with that woutR, it's true.
But biotechnology, that's shit people go to college for, not high school stuff.

I never said I disagreed with that. I said I disagree with you saying that you can't ever get a good education inside america, which is far from true.
If you need financial help (if your parents income is really low), you just need to apply and the government will give you a grant. I go to a public high school in michigan and the school is losing money and our economy is in the toilet but my college choices aren't limited to few colleges because I try to work hard to maintain a good GPA. All you need to do is show that you are committed to jumping the ladder and the government or college will recognize you. People like to cry about not being able to go up the economic ladder but they just need to work hard in high school and they will be better off. The problem is many low-income students don't seem to get that hard work pays off. You aren't automatically stuck at the bottom simply because your high school sucks.

the sad fact is if students like me want to compete with students with more money we have to work 2x as hard and expect half the results and still keep going but thats nothing i haven't been hearing since i was 5 so i expect nothing less from the world, i only regret not having access to that kind of stuff because i could have actually used it and i bet most kids just take that kinda stuff for granted....
nothing pisses me off more than hearing some prancy little rich boy say something liek "omgawd, your school had 40 kids per class and didn't have advanced chemogratography o0, how ever did you manage."

So if we charge a person with enough Mitochondria's. Then run them through the Human Genome Project, we can create a real life human version of Parasaito Ivu Tsu? It's time to kick Genes and chew chems.

that sounds more like a problem with the cost of driving than it does a poorer education system......

Yes they are also doing this kind of stuff to be able to keep the teachers who teach the AP classes in our school instead of firing them. We already fired a group of teachers 2 or 3 years ago and the school doesnt want to do that, especially with core classes.
