Thoughts on baseball?

Here is Aussie, it's a big club sport for kids and adults, but there is no televised games/major league.

I know it's big in America and Japan, but what are your thoughts on it? Have you played it? Watched it? Know a guy whose cousins friends brother once saw a pro player?

Also, for people who do know there stuff, What are your thoughts on Sam Bats? And the Catcher?

Baseball is a recreational activity, like bowling or checkers, not a sport.

lol true that, i can not sit and watch this whole game, even playing in one is simply boredom.

the only fun thing is getting to hit the ball with a nice bad stick

Played it for 7 years or so, up until my sophomore year in HS.
Fun to play, not fun to watch (on tv)

Never really payed too much attention to MLB, the constant allegations of steroid use etc turns me away from it.

btw bowling is a sport, as is baseball.

its extremely boring to watch i only watch the last 2 innings or so during the world series, if its anyone i could care about. used to play it, not so boring, but not nearly as entertaining or gratifying as other sports.

true that. its a pretty cool experience especially if you haven't been to a game.

but if its sports we're talkin about i gotta go with basketball, soccer, and hockey.

the sports where you gotta think on you're feet and react are much more exciting to play/watch

Er, you have to think on your feet and react pretty fast in baseball. Ever been a shortstop with a line drive that's coming at you at over 100mph?

should've known my wording wasn't clear.

what i meant was that it is on going. the action stops frequently in baseball or american football. after each play, the action stops for a longer period of time compared to those other sports.

don't get me wrong im not saying its easier to play baseball compared to any other sport, its just my preference of basketball, soccer and hockey.

Ever been a defensemen trying to stop a 6'3 215lbs guy with your body then blocking a frozen rubber puck flying at 100mph with your shins - all while wearing a pair of boots with a thin knife on the bottom and on ice?

I never disagreed with his statement that hockey takes fast reactions and thinking on your feet. Nice try though.

Yes, yes I have.

I only enjoy watching hockey, tennis, or lacrosse. Some others are good, but for some reason I can easily enjoy watching or playing those I stated.

dom I respect your opinion. I think hockey's a joke. Not really...just always picture the whole Zednik thing every time I watch it. And it's kind of boring.

You think hockey is boring? What team did you last watch?

As for the Zednik ordeal, there have been two incidents regarding a skate to the throat in the NHL. The one involving Zednik and one involving Clint Malarchuck. It is not a common occurrence.

baseball is only boring because they throw so fast now and its so hard to hit the ball anymore. thats why you never see anything happen for a long time

I know, but the one time I sat down and watched hockey was when the Zednik thing happened, so yeah. It's just boring to me. Even the fights are boring.

I think it's a sport, maybe it doesn't take as much physical activity as other sports but still, it is one.

baseball is a great sport, but now is so boring to watch on the pro lvl
they take too long between pitches
all the strategy of where, and what kind of pitch, which factors in where the ball will go if hit,
for the hitter will he be able to put the ball where he wants
for the fielders where do they throw the ball

lots of strategy if you know what to look for, just too slow now
8) 8)

Had fun playing it the few times i tried. But i cant imagine myself watching it though, was pretty slow paced when i was playing so i imagine it would be a lot worse watching someone else play.
