Let's join the army and get my face and leg blown off. Looks like fun. And when we tour in those hummers on the roads that's the shit right there man. But damn, last week we drove over those bombs on the side of the road, and damn holy hell. Did my buddy lose his legs or what! Now he's in a wheelchair for life and stares out of the window while trying to remember how it was to walk and take a shit on your own accord. Clearly the nurse doesn't mind. One more bed wetter for her to take care off.. You are dead
Or let's join the air force and fly into a swarm of birds who clog up the engine intakes, leaving me to race towards mother earth at blasting speed in an flaming steel coffin of death. Then you try to use the eject button and take a pass at the whole death thing and then find out the new rookie engineer didn't calibrate or repair that little safety error he thought was nothing causing the cap to remain steadfast.. You are dead.
No thanks on all occasions.

These are just meant to lure in confused little easily swayed boys with promises of a life filled with guns, training and action. This is so misleading and shows nothing about the horrendous atrocities which happen in actual combat or warfare. Teaching kids like that to roll in the mud or giving them war games to psychologically influence their interest is something only few are paying attention to. But then again, if the real acts and results of war became publicized..
Nobody would enlist anymore.

So lets disband the whole US Military and let everyone walk on us. Sounds like a great plan! GO GRIM!
What do you think it takes to protect our country? Having tea parties with Iranians? Its people dying for what they love. If you dont care about it then shut up.

I could never join the army, I don't understand why anyone would like to. If I had to kill someone it would have to be very personal, I can't just go to some other country and blow some suckers face off just because he's defending his country/morals there.
It's sad that this world needs armies, I'm just glad I don't have to serve in one.

lol all army advertisments realy galmorize war, then get a bunch of 19 yearolds who want to shoot a gun and have some excitement in real war. then they find out how much it sucks and isnt fun, and they come home farked up cause of PTSD. then the army stops taking care of them and cuts them off. FUUCK THE ARMY, fuuck this false advertising. war isnt glamorous, war isnt fun, it just sucks. and if you have anything different to say then you are a retard with no concept of what war realy is.

Nobody who enlists or attempts to enlist in the Army really thinks war is fun. If they are, they are too young and immature to understand. But it's a good balancing act that you won't be shipped overseas or see any action, it is a good jumpstart for college, and there's no denying the discipline that a military career gives you.
It's not false advertising. Even being in the reserve when you have left the armed forces means you may be called to duty. Again, it's taking a chance that you won't be. Enlistment in the armed forces is usually higher during a period of peace.
As for your other points, I don't see anywhere in the ads that say "War is fun". I don't see how anyone could think so. Risking your life or limbs isn't fun.
