You could say Best Buy is probably the reason Circuit City went out of business. They were basically the same store, Circuit City has just been around a lot longer.

Well with prices usually higher than Best Buy, not that many things really, basic things. I mean all the ones here there would never be anyone in there. Go down the road some to Best Buy and the store would always be filled. But its bad when Best Buy has better prices. But CC and BB has always been in competition, believe it or not Best Buy and Wal-Mart are actually in it, cause Wal-Mart is growing their electronics and cutting the prices more.

Its not really the prices really, Circuit City has just been plain stupid.
-They could of been bought by Walmart. They said no.
-They could of been bought by some billionaire who wanted to buy them out. They said no.
-The idiots tried to make their own computer systems for the stores instead of of going through IBM. By the time they finished it cost more and was already outdated so they threw that idea away.
-Then they started to do the DivX DVD's. Only Circuit City had the DVD players for those, no one bought them.
-They tried to cut cost by firing middle management instead of random associates and higher management.
All epic fails on their part, they had it coming to them loooooong ago.

This is the time to go down to your local CC and buy everything at below market value.
edit; they should have asked for a bailout.

Bailouts can't just be handed out to everyone who asks for them.
If they could, they should just bail me out and give me 40 million for nothing too.

Actually its only 5-30% off, and the one here jacked the prices before doing that. So you save like $1-$3. Only thing i saw 30% off was printer cables.

The thing about the discounts is WAIT. Right now they advertise a discount but what the company that they use for liquidating does is MARK UP the things to original price then discount them 10-30% or whatever. So wait a bit until they actually start the big discounts

Collecting most of that back as taxes, not leaving you with enough money to save your business, only to go bankrupt and have the government liquidate your business (and collect taxes from items sold) and make enough profit to finance-faith based schools and provide us with another generation of inept polititians.
