1. there's no such thing as a gaming laptop, they were never really designed for it.
2. why does the second laptop there only have 512mb memory and is trying to use vista?

edited (since i misread your post): the first laptop you provided is better to me. depending on what games you play you should be able to game lightly with that. The second one is lacking memory and i really really dont like celeron cpus

but one thing i do look for in a laptop is video card.

have fun playing much of anything with those, go with the first one, the second one is ridiculous 512mb of RAM with vista?? hahahahha
and if u buy either you are just going to have to buy another laptop in 2-3 years anyway or even less, i would just save up for something that will last.

agreed. but some people enjoy the luxury of mobility in a laptop. however in the long run is a bad investment especially if youre a gamer. better to buy a decent custom desktop which you can upgrade at any time than to replace a laptop every few years.

If you want a gaming laptop go look at alienware. Be warned they are expensive.

Lol, don't buy low-end laptops with vista on them and expect to be able to run games without gnawing your eyeballs out.

Seriously. You wont be able to game much if at all on either of those. Both are intergrated graphics. You'd be better off saving up for a better one. If you want to have any sort of gaming ability, make sure it's got a dedicated graphics card.

lol.
i've been gaming on my laptops for about 4 years now.
it's not like he's saying he wants to run crysis or
whatever ultra-high end game right?
i'm happy with my laptop because i can game anywhere,
not because i can run everything high settings. my
current laptop is about 2-2,5 years old now, had one
of the first dual core amd turion processors and 256mb
integrated video memory. but i can run mmo's like PW,
sro, archlord, etc on high settings.
@sat, from the top two, i'd go for number one.

Isn`t it going to be easier if you just tell us how much money you can afford for a notebook, so we can give you a helpful advice. Anyway if you wonder between the first two configs you posted, i`d stick to number 1

If your looking for a ripper of a PC,
http://www.ibuypower.com/ is your place.
Some of the laptops there(About $1000 US) have Nvidia 9600MS's 512mb and 4GB of DDR2 800mhz ram inside them.
Freakin' sweet!

http://www.gateway.com/systems/series/5 ... =ms_gamingNow the PC from ebay is a Dell computer for businesses. I have used one of those in high school. The only thing that it could run was Counter-strike 1.6.
Don't buy a cheap computer. They are not worth it. When buying a PC, you should save enough for something that will last a long time.
My desktop was fine for what I used it for 3 years ago. Then the keyboard and mouse were trash so I hada buy a Logitech G15 and G5. Within 6 months I hada swap out the graphics card for better games like cod4. Then I found out it had some cheap/slow memory so I upgraded to 4 gb. Ran out of space on my hard drive so I had to buy a new one.
So in the end I have spent about $1,600 because I cheaped out at the beginning with a branded PC. I found all the parts on newegg of the current PC hardware I have now before I upgraded almost the entire thing, It would have only cost me $1,000 if I built it custom.
