the Q6600 for sure, I have one and am running it at 3.3Ghz. It is a very nice overclocker and a very cheap priced quad core.

You could have just quoted me

I bought a Q6600 for 200$ Canadian and I have absolutely no regrets. Overclocks like a dream and I've had no problems so far.

Re: amd 9850 or intel q6600
i would say the AMD9580. I generally like Intel more atm but i have a friend running a high end AMDquad and its better than most low tier intels comparing what friends are running. AMD is cheaper overalll too. so bang for buck ima have to do with AMD

Re: amd 9850 or intel q6600
Why not intel E8400? As far as I know, E8400 is superior in almost every aspect.. Newer technology, same price range.. Bought one when I built this pc from components 2-3 months ago.
If I'd have to choose from AMD 9850 and Q6600, I'd take Q6600.. For gaming though the first bottleneck is the GPU, make sure you get a proper one

6600 has amazing Overclocking possibilities, and in a magazine review, they got it to 3.4ghz with a £10 cooler (about $15).
Atm, AMD is a big no-no. They are rushing their newest releases, and as such, they are failures.

Yea the only problem with the Q6600 is the shitty, stock heat sink. Couldn't even get mine to 2.8 ghz without the temps going >60. Bought an OCZ heat sink and I'm flying bye 3.6 like it's nothing.

Re: amd 9850 or intel q6600
I thought AMD was better for gaming.
I have both, and for the high A$$ price of intel, i would go for AMD.
Don't let clock speed fool you.
