hey everyone. i usually dont do this but I have searched everywhere for a solution to my problem, but to no avail.
problem is that i want to be able to have the video on my youtube profile page as widescreen format. and i cant find anything on my account to be able to do that. im not asking how to embed on websites. im talking about the featured video on one's channel.
This is an example of what I want it to be.I am just looking for a quick response and then topic can be locked.

the video u want in your page needs to be in HD mode, copy the link when its in HD mode and paste it on the featured video thing.

fine =P,
Step 1
-MAKE SURE THE VIDEO YOUR PUTTING ON YOUR PAGE HAS AN HD OPTION
Step 2
-Go to the video page, click on the HD option, then copy the address link.
Step 3
-Paste the address link to the featured video box on edit channel.
better?

tried that a while ago my friend. if it was that simple, it wouldn't be a problem.
for more clarification, this is the video I am testing the featured video widescreen thing with:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfCSV9ZriGw&fmt=22clearly that url includes the HD option (&fmt=22).
and that is the link i pasted on the channel but when i save my changes, it automatically defaults back to the same url except without the fmt=22 option.
i want to know how to have it widescreen/hd on the channel.

18 isn't always best, 22 can get you better quality in some cases.

we are talking about hd in this thread. fmt22=High definition. fmt18=high quality.
kaykay?
btw, no one knows how to solve this? i was almost certain someone here on srf would know how to.

fmt=22 is the orginal quality of the video. if the orginal quality isnt good then the video with fmt=22 wont have a good quality aswell

wow nice update.
so proud of YT's recent developments.
btw, i wouldn't call that "full hd".
its just a larger screen AFAIK, with no significant increase in quality.

i think he knows that dude. he's asking for specfic specs to render at.
azilius, this is what i used to set up my HD settings for youtube videos:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNW1_BIO ... re=relatedthe only thing in there which could be better customized i think is the bitrate. just experiment with the bitrate i say. otherwise those specs work like a charm. and don't forget to save the settings and label it (i.e. Youtube HD) so that it is easier to render a video next time.

Doesn't look to bad

well at least you can run the game in the first place. *sigh
btw looks great asides from the slight framerate issue of course.
Edit: btw what bitrate did you set? any other specs you modified?

For that I did exactly what the video said. I'll try on Bit Rate VBR mode later but I'm unsure of what to set it at..or if that's even what you're referring to
