If people do something like raping or killing someone, the fault lies with them. There's been something wrong with them for a while that made them do that.

Probably it does provoke a few people who are already mentally unwell, but it saves soooo many other people from doing it that it's good in the long run.

[EDIT:] Oh yeah, and before anyone says something about it, I realize women back then weren't considered to be people, they were more like things. But obviously the rapists today think the same thing or they wouldn't be doing what they're doing.

Exactly. It takes a unique type of person to commit these disgusting crimes. It is not something you wake up one day and say, "I think imma rape someone today." The people that do these things have been abused; physically, sexually, emotionally or a combination of the three. I dont just mean by the parents. A lot of the time they were picked on growing up and in school. There are a million reasons that we could say this is why they do it, but it comes down to the individuals psyche. They all had a "breaking point" that pushed them down that path. Porn does not cause people to want to commit rape. If it did then I am pretty sure at least half the people on this forum should be wanting to rape someone at anytime now. I grew up on violent video games and I enjoy them, but IRL I try to avoid violence as much as I can. I have watched porn and it didnt make me want to get force someone to do it with me. Yes I admitted it and I am not ashamed of it, I have watched it with my wife as well (now thats arrousing ). The mentality of a great deal of people is that "monkey see monkey do" this is why people think porn is a bad thing and that violent video games are the devil for brainwashing your children. Porn is a way for men and women to stimulate themselves and live a fantasy for a period of time. Violent video games is a way for kids and adults alike to show that they are a "badass". Think about it, why do most people PVP in Silkroad? To say hey I love to lose? Or is it to make a strong character and beat the hell out of your opponents?

Porn is not a deamon that infects the person, the person already has the desire to do what they want no matter what it takes.

A friend and i once had a discussion on the things we would do in a lawless land and of course sex came up. He said if he saw a hot chick and there were no laws murder/death everywhere he's go for it. Now this is not an ugly guy with self-image problems he's a pretty big dude who can get tons of girls and can probably bench well over 300 easy. He applied the reverse to me, I didn't answer...

There is a very strong duality when it comes to the male sex drive. These are the social restraints combined with physical drive. We see things like child/adult rape and when turn our heads in disgust but probably 50-70 years ago raping certain women in certain situations was ruled as a boys will be boys. Go back 100 more years and we see it as regular custom for men in their 40's-50's to marry girls between the ages of 12-16 in fact this was common custom amongst some very respectable men in history, and wives probably from the 1950's in back were expected to perform without questions.

i wonder what the people on this forum would do in a lawless land, to say porn is holding ppl back from rape would probably mean ppl would answer like my friend and just go for it....
