Current is flowing through the blade, any conductive material come in contact with blade will cause a drop in current. This drop in current will cause the blade to be lowered and jammed to a halt.

I think the unit that jams the blade gets destroyed, not the blade itself
but i will still consider my fingers more valuable than another blade, but thats just me
