model shoot; any tips?

Well this probably ain't the best place to ask but i thought I'd give it a shot anyway. In the next month i have a model shoot coming up for a friends portfolio, I've never really done anything like this before and i want to be able to do the best i can for her.
Anyway i want things to go well, produce the best results and all that. So does anyone have experience in this? Any tips? All makeup and hair styling editing blah blah blah will be done for me, so i guess i need a bit of advice about trying to look at natural and relaxed as possible if anyone could help out. Maybe someone who does drama could give me a few pointers to look out for? Any tips to staying still?
Since i get a digital copy of the shots I'll be sure to post the end results when i get them, although it may be a while away.. i will have to ress this thread when the time comes.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

just be yourself.
listen to what the photographer says.
don't be affraid of some skin flash.
sleep with the photographer
take a line
smoke a cigarette
...
Profit!
at least that's what I do everytime I want to get a good shot..
well, for the photo I only use the first two, after that I just do the other steps...

Be natural like you said. But also depend on the shot, ask the photographer like in what context are you shooting, sorta story so you can be prepared. If you do it for a product its pretty simple but sometime like in Playboy they have lil short stories, obviously you arent in playboy lol. Also if you are nervous before the shoot, had a small drink, better yet go crank one out and relax yourself xD

we used to have some ppl here who did some modeling work and had experience with the camera...not sure where they went...

Since when don't guys model? The photographer is doing a lust portfolio, and thus, male and female needed.
Thanks for the advice though, quite liking marjins idea actually ^^

be sure to use the first three steps I gave you.

With a short hairstyle you would look much better and cleaner overall. Maybe something spiky and maybe you should wear a clean white long sleeved shirt.Maybe something like this?
Maybe throw in a nice new pants as well, finish it off with a pair of black or brown shoes and you are done.

anyway, its already been cut to as short as im willing to take it.
I use to have pretty short hair when i was younger but well, i just don't like it. I much prefer a shortish medium length, what i have now is just a bit short for my liking =/
As far as the clothing is concerned, well i don't have too much say in that. It's all prepicked out for me as i have to fit into the theme the photographer is going for.
But thanks for the advice, i admit my old bowlcut was pretty rank >_<
