Yes.
How can you not? It's 8,000 light years away. To put that into perspective, the image you see at 2:00 is looking so far back into the past that at the same time humans were just about to take the first steps of civilization and settle into the fertile crescent. It's so far back in time that at the time, according to some Christians, is when the Earth was created. You're looking far back in time. The Universe is so large that to even begin to appreciate what it takes to appreciate you have to understand some pretty abstract notions. I guess if you're not up to that task, you wouldn't be interested.
I was reading "A Brief History of Time" a while ago. Stephen Hawkins wrote a chapter on space-time and light. In a nutshell, he was talking about the possibility of bending light and getting it to reflect back at us - it would give us a look into the past. Can you imagine looking thousands, millions, or billions of years into our past?

Ahh yes I remember hearing about this in the show " The Universe". I think its pretty amazing how we are able to "see" into the past by light years.
The videos amazing by the way, I love space

Very interesting video, thanks for sharing. I'm taking astronomy so I found that really neat. And the pictures were quite beautiful.

8,000 light years away? That means the explosion already happened, right?
