Ok, so I'm downloading something with uTorrent, but its so god damn slow. Does anyone know how to make it faster? I really want this download to finish fast. I'm going at 5kb per second and that's just bad. Btw, I use EarthLink internet and I have 100 mbps. Please help!

you probably have a low seeded torrent. right now im download harry potter 1-5 and its going 5mb per second. and i got 54mbps

Simple solution .. if you want a torrent to go fast .. get more seeders. if you are a member of a private torrent forum then request for it to be seeded .. but should not be neccessary. If not .. find another new free torrent of whatever you wanted.

yes, what crumpets said, more seeders then leechers is good. if there is a 2-1 ratio of seeders to leechs then your good but if it's 1-1 or 1-2 etc then it will be slow. but you should use torrents that that display leechers and what not.

he is throttled hence the reason for downloading torrents

look for "utorrent tweaks" on google and patch for tcpip and your set to go

I'm more amazed at the fact people quote answers to a question they ask afterward.

The problem with torrents is that most users are leachers...you should allways share every torrent at least to a ratio of 1:00...that way the whole thing works well.

As for speed...sometime i run at 15kb..others i run at 350kb/s....time of day and seeds is a big factor.

oh yeah...and i use azureus...not that i think its the best but it does the job!

try to find yourself a good private torrentsite like crumpets said.

i'm a member of a dutch torrent site and there you have to seed for a minimum ratio of 1.0, or else you'll get banned. so i always run my downloads at full speed.

mostly the problem isn't your internetconnection, but the amount of seeders.

2 ways.

1) A shitload of seeds.
2) Try to port forward your torrent program if you're behind a router, i'm using uTorrent and it increased my speed by almost 10x

just find a new torrent file...if its a well known movie/game, there should be more options with more seeders and fewer leechers.

I almost never have any problems finding good files with lots of seeders. You probably haven't searched enough.
