Every time i created GIF file from video, the GIF is always very big size ~ 2+ Mb. I use photoshop CS2. I want a small size GIF only like every GIF i see on forum with only 100-300kb, but can still conserve the image quality.

I'm gonna assume they either reduce the amount of frames or the length of the 'clip'.
Maybe Photoshop isn't efficient at creating gif's of movies.

so do you know any good GIF creator?

Use Macromedia Fireworks for GIFS. Believe me, that program rox for gifs.

yup, that's the one i use to create gifs.

Yeah this has to do with the number of frames. Reduce it to significantly reduce the size, back to a few kb for a fluent animation.

I used to make video -> gifs myself a year or 2 ago but I forgot what program I used sorry oO

This Macromedia program, how much does it cost? Or is it free?

There's always illegal ways to "purchase" it, otherwise apparently adobe now produces Fireworks, and the latest one, Adobe Fireworks CS4 is $299. In my google search, there was other stuff, but the Adobe Fireworks was the first really relevant one I saw.

Go to PS, make a gif out of that. Upload the gif to fireworks then optimize it there

Can you make a nice tutorial please, it's easy to say but there isn't any optimize function in Firework.
Here is what I made with ImageReady.


The animation is OK, but it requires much frames and consume disk space. I've skipped it each 1 frame but the file is still big: ~3Mb

And the color is bad: 256 color


I want something that make a good color like this one:
And good animation like this one:
But the file size is small.
