I totaled my car yesterday...

So yesterday morning at around 8:15 Central, i was turning into a gas station and got hit by a car. My fault though. Misjudged the distance between the cars and went to early, got halfway into the gas station and got hit and spun me the rest of the way in. Rear axle is bent and the gas tank ruptured.
Insurance only paid off half the payments we had left on it. Quite a fun busy future in store for me.

Look at the bright side, at least you won't have to open the cap to fill in the petrol now.

My manly car and your gentle female car tried to have intercourse, your car couldn't take my car's manly affections. The dent on the side was a kiss on the waist, and the broken axle came from some loving it got from behind.

This is why I bought an old ass 84 Mustang. Cheap, no payments, rugged retro design, and if anything happens to it, insurance goes straight to repairs.

I blame the environment here, it's hard to let down your guard when it feels like everyone lives to flame the Berzelius out of each other as soon as they see a opening in someone's posts or topic.

Wasn't your comment, it was just Grimjaw's comment. I have to do Defensive driving so im not to happy about hearing the word defensive. I don't think he was trying to offend me, just not in a good mood right now.

Such a dick thing to say.. My friend and i got in a wreck a few months back, lost control and hit a tree @ about 65mph.. My back was stiff for a couple of days and my body was sore for awhile after that.

I know what your going through man, i crashed my car around 2 months ago. Insurance covered the bill ($5000 ) and i only had to pay a $500 excess which was good. Its taken me a while to get over it, for a fair while i just didn't drive. But im a lot better now, im driving more safely ( not making stupid decisions on when to turn ) and feel like a much better driver from it.
In the end we must learn from our mistakes. Your still safe and well so there is much to be grateful for. I hope you feel better soon man, my sympathies are with you.

The rear axle can be replaced. As long as the frame of the car is not bent, it isn't really considered totaled UNLESS the damages of the car is higher than the KBB value of the car. Seems like that is the case. Hope you are okay though, when I got rear ended and my car got totaled, I had to go to 1 month of physical therapy. It sucked.
