Anyone with a new iPod nano 4G here?

I just bought a new ipod nano since my old one quit after it got soaked when I was sailing.
So now with this new nano I need to almost double click the Next Song button for it to work.
I think I found out why, but I need to know if everyone has it or just this ipod, so I can send it back.
I don't want any other mp3 player than a nano, and the 4G has the exact same measurements as my previous nano (The 2G I believe) so if it's for everyone I guess I'll just learn to live with it.
If it's just this iPod then I can get a new one and enjoy it more.
I'm not sure if my explanation is clear, it doesn't look all that clear to me so here's what I'm talking about sketched in paint:

Ok so the black oval shaped circle represents the nano.
I'm thinking that the core of the problem lies in this shape. You see, I think the button, represented as the Blue line, is not oval shaped like the iPod itself.
So when I press down the button, it first has to go down (the area marked red) before it's in place to reach the actual integrated Next/Previous song button, which is in the oval shaped ipod.
The problem is that when the button is in place to reach the integrated button it 'clicks', as in makes a sound that resembles to normal click you get when you press next song. BUT it hasn't actually done that, because the button is only just in place.
After that I press it a bit harder and only then it reaches the real next song button.
It's doing two clicks, which make 2x the sound which is annoying.
Does every nano 4G have this, or should I send mine back?
edit: why is my image not working?
It worked like this forever.
I'll add to attachments.
