Sagging Your Pants in Mansfield, Louisiana
You’ve got nine more days to show off your crazy, sexy and/or cool underwear in Mansfield, a Louisiana town of 5,500 located forty miles south of Shreveport. Starting September 15th, anyone caught wearing sagging pants that expose underwear will be subject to a fine of up to $150 plus court costs – or face up to 15 days in jail.

Chewing Gum Without a Prescription in Singapore
Singapore’s 1994 caning of American Michael Fay was a big international incident to me. Even though I rarely left New Jersey, I was terrified of accidentally winding up in Singapore and breaking a law I didn’t know existed. Fay’s punishment was for vandalism, but every news story seemed to mention Singapore’s strict war on gum. The penalty for smuggling gum was a year in jail and a $5,500 fine. So this one I knew, but hadn’t heard the latest.

As part of a 2003 trade deal with the United States – with lots of help from the powerful gum lobby – Singapore agreed to relax the ban. However, gum is only allowed with a medical prescription.

For more weird laws, check out Becky’s previous post on this subject and all the great comments underneath. And if you know of or have been cited for breaking any strange laws, keep the list going.

lol. squirt, there's a difference of wearing it low for comfort and wearing it low cause it's a fad or it's "cool". i dont think 99% of those who wear their pants low do so because they are comfortable like that. in fact that may be the secondary reason. primary being to follow the "cool" trend, which is stupid.

hmmm, i think there should be a limit to how low they go because at a certain point it becomes public indecency. Besides that i don't see the problem with it, its a style, not the best style but a style, same a wearing chains and belly shirts and mini skirts. The gov't telling you how to dress is a step in the wrong direction in my book. If you find it offensive i think its best for you to get over it because thats freedom of speech whether you like it or not and if anyone had a brain and the money to afford a good lawyer they'd take this thing to the supreme court.

I agree, my pants sag a little bit for comfort, but my boxers arent exposed (usually) and if they are, its just a bit.
But some people, just take things way too far. Like.. their shorts on them are at their feet, or their pants are like.. a few inches past their butt, its just way too much.
I think the law is a great idea, and will put people in their place.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal to sag your pants in Atlanta as well.

Most people who wear their pants low usually have shirts that cover it anyway. The extreme cases will stand out and get fines. Like those dudes you see 50% or more of their boxers before their pants start.

Yeah, my shirt is over so my ass dont get exposed anyways so I dont really realise that the real problem is.

Cant really understand that law. It's like making a law that says, you get arrested if you wear gloves on the summer.

I wear my pants low because I consider it far more comfortable than wearing them (what looks like) on my chest. I do not however, wear them so low my ass is exposed to the entire neighborhood, that in my opinion is kinda gross and as someone said it was a 'fad' or the 'thing to do'.

The only thing I wear extremely low is my School Uniform pants, which is generally covered by my Uniform T-shirt anyway.

I wear my pants fairly low, the top of the pants is half way down my ass and my belt rests just above my penis. I'm not too sure why but i just cant wear pants where they are designed to be, it feels so weird and awkward. Although i can assure you it's not a fashion thing, i disagree with that whole "scene", especially the kind of people that display that style around here.

Hell I'd wear a skirt instead of shirts, I'm well known around here for my dress wearing. Though my legs are a bit hairy for that.. and im afraid of wax :(

That'll teach em. Damn bastards, buy some fitting clothes. It's really Farking ridiculous, one of my friends also does this, and on Farking purpose as well. You can see half of his arse. It's retarded.
He also often stretches out so his shirt lifts up so everyone can see the undies.
I'm still praying that one day he'll wear white boxers with brown poopoo stains and goes for another 'stretch' next to the ladies.

banning saggin pants from anywhere in the country is considered unconstitutional and im suprised no-one has done anything about this... this country was based on freedom of speech and freedom of expression if you cant express who you are or what you feel most comfortable with when you wear clothes... then this country is turning fascist...
