i didn't think they would check for songs EVEN IN VIDEO GAMES VIDEOS... I didnt have that video saved on my comp so it's lost lol, it was my very first unique kill

Someone reported you for copyright infringement I guess.
Quite sad tbh. Lucky all my vids have music from bands that either don't collect royalties anymore .. or who nobody knows anyway.

true, they only ban video when somebody reports it.
the whole youtube is full of music,, they can't just ban all music cause of copyright :p that takes ages to manege that. they only ban when somebody reported it.

I had a warning once. one of my videos is being watched by some music studio. (song was three doors down - kryptonite) nothign happened afterwards.
i just don't really get how this is copyight infridgement. i don't claim the song as mine, i don't produce it either. if i have bought the music then it's up to me how i use it. i don't see how putting it in a video and playing it on the radio is any different.

next time throw up band name in credits or comment or something. to credit the ban im sure record label won't care as it might make someone go buy the album. no?

yea usually if they are cool, they let you off with a warning. all i do, like master_wong said, is give them credit for their media. just write that it is just a fan-made video and no copyright intention was made and bla bla bla. takes only 2 mins but can save your video. happened a lot to my bro's videos (dam UMG).

this actually happened to me quite recently, in my most popular video i used 2 songs from the 300 soundtrack that were by 9 inch nails, i blocked the video for a while, no warning, but then i sent in a repeal saying that i gave credit to the artist and that other videos with much more views had the same music and had not been blocked, and then they unblocked it, i really didnt think they would, but they did, so lucky me

Nope, Youtube has some type of scanning program that can detect what song each video is playing. If the song is similar to something a company says they do not want on youtube, then they block it.
My Roc video was block because Young Jeezy's company does this scanning technique. Audio Swap sucks so I just re-uploaded it with some underground dubstep.
Some companies allow you to use their music, in return the youtube page will have an itunes or amazon music link to buy it from. This was not the case with my video.
