It depends if you can wait. If not then buy what you can afford now. If you can then save.

i alrdy hav a pretty decent acoustic. nylon stringed for classical music. the problem is the strings are too far apart from teh frets, so i have to press ahrd to play. and its rly difficult for me to bar chord. electric guitar is easier. but thx. ill look up some more later on

I know this sounds really sketchy but Denelectro guitars are actually gems! They're dirt cheap but give you that super unique sound. A lot of artist like Beck and Jimmy page actually use their guitars :)

Go Ibanez if you wanna play a variety of stuff, or get a Shecter if you want to play heavier stuff, if your going for lighter stuff go with the Strat, I REALLY hate Strats though they're definately not a guitar for me.

Give me an idea on how to keep me occupied in Aus...get a guitar. Anyway...no helpful input on the topic, just bored. But the guitars posted looked kinky...

Go Epiphone then, I have an Epiphone Les Paul. Bought it for $653 so it's not a piece of crap like all cheaper Epiphones. It plays really well and all my friends like it a lot. I'm in the process of saving up for a Gibson now haha.

Have you considered an Ovation?
http://www.ovationguitars.com/

Easily my favorite make. :)
The sound from an electric acoustic bowl back is sublime.

guitar is relatively easy to learn imo, and it sounds good adn u can sing along. and u can start ur own band once u find a bass and drumset player with another guitar player

i think an ibanez would be decent, strat seems like a bad idea now. im trying to buy starcaster from a friend. so now im decding whether ibanez or starcaster.
