You're right, it needs to be removed entirely for the human race to make any form of progress.

Not sure if serious. Want to expand on this?![]()
But at the same time I agree, it shouldn't change. So that maybe it will die out.

Maybe, maybe not, a higher being could of created the items necessary for a scientific reaction to occur.
its a common thing to believe that anything created must be created by a knowledgeable creature, but its a misconception, there is nothing to prove that only a creature can create something, thus making a being creator not a only option

BRB Not teaching evolution in schools. BRB Not funding stem cell research. BRB killing those who don't believe what I do. BRB Adjusting history books to fit my religious agenda (look up Texas School board.) BRB Killing abortion doctors. BRB Being bigots, not allowing gays to marry. BRB Being bigots in general. Sure, plenty of people don't fit these extremes, but as a whole religion can be used to justify some extremely retarded stuff. Yes, people could find ways to justify some of these things without religion, but not a majority of them. I'm going to have to guess that not as many people would blow themselves up if they didn't believe in an eternal afterlife. Or be so hostile towards science (usually when it contradicts their book) if they were not so caught up in religious fairytales. Etc...

We'd probably have to sacrifice more NuclearSilos to keep the ghosts happy then...

Nope, I would update my own understanding and 'beliefs.' Beliefs and understanding are not set in stone, you are free to change and better them both.

Second, I thought I was posting in a forum. You know, where people discuss things. Oh wait, you are elevating religion to it's untouchable status, typical. Like I said earlier, I rarely discuss religion outside forums / internet unless specifically asked.

You are also forgetting God is a perfect being and off this title he inherits traits such as always in effect perfect communication skills ( the same title that makes his existence impossible ), this alone destroys the structure of our tale when any conflict regarding the story occurs. Anyways you are trying to decide who among the insane has the better story on x subject and as I see it that has little worth when you take all things into considering.
Getting some sleep here, later.

Most wars, battles, fights, conflicts, feuds are, at their roots, man being stupid based.

Men are the cause. If they don't know how to find a way to leave peacefully together, war is inevitable. Conflict (mentally/materially) => war
Flamewar/argue in SRF for example, is a conflict. Everyone wants to prove we're right. Disrespect of other's belief => conflict.
Freedom and respect is the key of the peace. Whenever there is a tyrant "you have to do this, you have to do that, you can't do this, you can't do that...", there is war.
It's not about being religious that cause the war, but it's about how you govern a country, how you setup rules and laws.

Let me try and spell it out for you:
The bible. Yes, the bible. Does not say "The earth is X y/o," God created the earth in "Y" and it is "X" years old. This is not a contradiction. It is the interpretation of extremist Christians. You do not. No, YOU SHOULD NOT take these groups seriously. As I posted, it's hard enough taking Magical Talking Snakes and Supernatural Events (Resurrections) seriously. You want me to accept the interpretation of bigoted backwater uneducated rednecks seriously. Yeah, again, not happening. I will consider what the mainstream Christians accept: It was not 7 literal days, it as an unspecified amount of time that only their God could possibly understand. The age of the Earth? We know it. What kind of person, other than an extremist, would ignore that we know how old the Earth is.always in effect perfect communication skills
One thing I want to pick at is this. What does that even mean? You take things that can be summed up in a word or two (your massive paragraph about indoctrinating children or your rants about non-initiation of force.) His Omnipresence? How does Omnipresence contradict him. I mean, seriously. Some Americans think Obama is Muslim, screw the fact that we know he isn't. Because some people think it's true it must be. Your logic is like the people you appear to despise, tbh.
You have a tree, you have a couple rotten apples.
The whole tree is terrible, cut it down.
The... whole tree?
Yes. The whole tree.this alone destroys the structure of our tale when any conflict regarding the story occurs
This last part is down right stupid, if you've spent more than 10 minutes reading the bible you'd realize along with Jewish History it's full of metaphors and fables.
Man trying to understand where we came from? I'm going to go ahead and call that a fictional story.
Prophets? It's called... wait for it... foreshadowing. A very common literary tool.
Angels coming down to fight wars for Jewish Kings? Man, Angels totally came down and fought that war. Let's forget the previous chapter where they depict real Jews fighting a real war without any Angels. Angels? Dramatic effect.
Psalms? David likes to sing, the guy can spit some wicked sick..curve wrote:NuclearSilo wrote:It's not the belief in God that stop human to progress. It's man. Am I not clear? Also, most people that believe in "a God" of sorts are non-denominational. We're taught these stories, we grow up, we doubt the stories, we're introduced to science and our own logic as children contradicts the stories *Daddy, the snake in the store didn't talk!* *Snakes don't talk, son* *What about the snake in the Garden?* *Err*.
