this is one of the biggest tragedies music has suffered in many years. all assessments about his personality and activities aside, he was one of the most influential forces in popular music for the last several decades. he helped to shape the sound that many of the artists you all love now use. there is no denying that as he approached the end of his life he got increasingly bizarre, but likewise there can be no arguing that he is one of the single most recognized figures of our time, all the world over. he will be missed.

Have you ever heard of "We are the World" or USA for Africa? Music helped raised around $100 million to help fight starvation and diseases. That was in 1985. I'll let you calculate how much that is with today's inflation. Music has been used many time to raise awareness and help for causes to benefit those who are living in substandard conditions. Without music, we are just creatures barking without harmony. If anything that helps tie humans together as one creature on this planet, I would have to say music. It defines who you are as well as making you unique. Music has the power to invoke emotion and action.

As for the child molestation charges, no one was able to prove anything. Everyone knew MJ was a little odd, as are most creative artists. Hell if you look at Moonwalker, you can tell he always liked kids. Maybe he wanted to be their hero. Who knows. No one was able to prove he molested those kids. If anything I would say he was too sick and didn't want to continue going to court, thus just paying them off so they would quit.

If all you see is "MJ = child molesting, druggie freak", and don't see just how amazingly brilliant that man was, than you either have the brain of a 10 year old, or you're just too dumb to comprehend what I just wrote.
