loved it, even tho most critized about the plot and stuff i enjoyed it all.

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Just got back from the movies.
I thought is was pretty good. Fights are amazing, like said above, cgi was perfect. Does have a lot of fight scenes, but they are done very well.
Plot sucked? What was wrong with the plot? Seemed to fit together just fine to me. Granted I didn't watch the TV series as a kid so I don't know if maybe you are comparing it to that??

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
I gotta agree with satman on some parts. Thought the movie was visually eye appealing, fight scenes were awesome, effects were awesome. Though the Transformers movies showed/focused too much on 'humans' than the actual 'bots'. good movie nonetheless.

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
This review sums up my feelings: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/user/6903 ... id=1188000 (Wasn't written by me) Minus the comedy part, I thought it was fine. And LOL at the yahoo articles saying the brother's were racist.. Over sensitive much?
Just go in and give yourself a chance to enjoy it.. It's a movie about robots. Stop trying to read so far into it.. Seems like some people went it with a negative feeling from the start..
Could have been better, but still worth it to go see.

They were racist? didnt you see it? am guessing your too young to notice the two jive-talking
robots, one of whom sports a gold tooth, who many think embody all sorts
of negative stereotypes about African-Americans.
I mean just look at its face, its pathetic that anything like this made it onto screen,
and seeing how people who saw this film over the ages of 16 are complaining about it
must mean there's something wrong with it. Thats not to say that those under the
ages of 16 don't have valid opinions, its just that they didn't grow up around racial
caricatures like this when they were growing up and wouldn't see anything wrong with
this.

ALSO...it DOESNT MATTER if they are robots, not one bit at all, its still a racial
caricature (would you say a cartoon from the 1930's showing a big lipped, slow stupid
black house worker was okay? because its only a cartoon?)
Given how many people are complaining about it...i doubt its just people being negative
also if you REALLY cant see it i worry about you.

I find political correctness funny, actually. People don't quite seem to understand what "racism" actually is. Sure, you can sit here all day telling me that the movie was racist for depicting a face that looked like that. Technically, if I drew a picture of a white man killing a black man you would call that racist too.
But there's one important factor you aren't taking into consideration; context and intent. Take the context of the film, that particular character was used mainly as comic relief. They didn't try and play a constant message on a stereotype of an african american, but rather created the persona of a jocular, less than intelligent person (or robot rather). Do such people exist in this world? Yes, its a fact. There are both white and black people who exist just like this. Does this mean they are degrading an entire race just because they chose to make such a character? Well considering I watched this movie about 5 hours ago I can assure you that it was hardly degrading, at no point did I see any intent to degrade the race of african americans.
If you want to go all political and racist on us then go watch The Birth of a Nation, you might even learn something from it.
Oh and I'm 19 years old, so don't even try to pull that age stereotyping on me. I know 15 year olds that are smarter than most grown men, nice way to degrade those who are younger than you. I could call you an "ageist" if i really wanted, go eat your hypocrisy.
As far as transformers is concerned, it was a fucking awesome movie, I'd gladly watch it again.

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
god just please stop okay, if you dont get whats wrong with it then there is no help for
you at all okay, i mean giving how you think its an awesome movie shows you have
zero taste in films as you liked this mindless boring film that ran for 2 1/2
agonizing hours of nothing but explosions and people shouting for no apparent reason.
and to say that its only a movie or only a robot makes it worse seeing how it is going
to be viewed by millions of children around the world. Fact is that those two
characters are racist, and its a shame Micheal Bay has to use them in his film to see
it to kids.
Lets go back 12 years when you were only 7 years old and star wars episode 1 came out,
just like back then the films makers decided to use a character in the film to markek
it towards children (jar jar binks) a character which only children and idiots seemed
to like and everyone hated as it just played out as an racist view of 19th century
black person (go around calling everyone "masser'" and saying "we'sa in trouble now")
At the time it caused controversy and the film makers regrated it and as such his
role in episode 2 was only a few minuets long.
At the end of the day you can say its a children film and that it needs characters
like this to sell the film, but go back to when action films were actually good
films and not rubbish like this (star wars, lost ark, goonies etc...) and even
recent action films (rated PG-13) Star Trek, Iron Man, Pirates of the Caribbean 1.
Yes these films mix fantasy with action just like Transformers, but unlike transformers
they do it while building on a solid story, humor aimed at children and adults alike
and well made action scenes. Where as Transformers as no solid story, humor aimed
at the LOWEST common deomenater (think American Pie but even worse) and action
scenes that amount to badly shot explosions and over use of CGI. So critics
are well founded and 100% right to slate this movie and call it the garbage that
is it. Worst summer movie of 2009 and a poor effort at other action films when
you look at the genre over the recent years.
So yes if you thought this was an "awesome movie", sorry to say but you have no
idea what a good film was and would think if a film doesn't have explosions or
an overuse of sexual references then its a bad movie.

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
You seem to make a lot of bold statements, but where is your "proof" behind your statements? I offered an opinion and i justified it. I proved with the implications that context and the intent of the film makers had (or at least my perceived opinion on their intent) that it was not actually racist and demeaning to a race, rather just a slow witted character being used as comedic relief.
But yet you seem to do what you have always done best, offer your opinion without any sort of proof. If i may quote you, "if you dont get whats wrong with it then there is no help for
you at all okay". You can use this bold, derogatory language all you want but it still doesn't prove that the film was depicting any sort of oppression towards the African American race as a whole. All you have done is expressed how much you hated the film (i can understand why you hated the film, personal taste is derivative of ones opinions) and blew a few meaningless words which simply state "i think its racist because i do and if you dont agree your an idiot".
So if you truly believe what you believe, offer some quotes and particular segments of the film which you think are "racist" and justify the reasons why the intent of those segments was to demean an entire race. Until then, both myself and this community have no reason at all to contemplate and agree with your opinion.
And if i may quote you again..
"So yes if you thought this was an "awesome movie", sorry to say but you have no idea what a good film was and would think if a film doesn't have explosions or an overuse of sexual references then its a bad movie. "
Since when, at any stage, did i say that? For all you know i could spend my days watching independent films about expression of ones soul and the travesties that life presents before us. Again, you make more demeaning insults to try and justify your opinion. You are simply making assumptions based on the counter opinion to your own. I liked this movie, why does that mean i must love actions films filled with lust? If you knew anything about me you would know im pretty much celibate and i have watched only 2-3 actions films in my entire life. Yet further proof that your assumptions are unjusatified. And furthermore, "good taste" is not a fixed thing and is heavily influenced upon ones personal perspective and tastes. If i said anyone who didn't like carrots has no taste at all, would you dsay its a justified opinion?
Why am i even bothering typing this? If you are simply trolling then well played, you did well.

Lol. its funny they only complain when its not an actual black person acting like that... I've seen plenty of times where a black person in a movie had to act like what most ppl see in typical blacks. but when the jarjar bots came out they rage its funny.

smart move...you would've ended up slaughtering half of them had you actually been forced to watch the movie with them
@The Twins issue: speech pattern, gold teeth, and the fact that they were illiterate...It was probably a marketing scheme (like the whole movie was) and slang talk and gold teeth appeal to the youth of this generation apparently. The whole movie was an advertisement for Toys, the kids in the theater seemed to love them...even the 4 loud, obnoxious, large black guys in their 30's behind me seemed to enjoy them..but i consider anyone who enjoyed that movie borderline retarded soooo needless to say i hated all of them. Also i would like to point out that most speech made by any of the robots was garbage anyway. As a black person was i offended, by the movie, yes...by the twins, no. Annoyed, filled with anger and rage, but not offended.

satman, like I said in my original post, oversensitive. All this "racsim" and pq whinny shit makes me sick. If you're not illiterate and walk around talking slang and cursing all the time why would the twins offend you? If you think those two robots somehow represent or even try to represent a majority of the African American population then you're a moron, and like I said before, oversensitive.
XemnasXD, it's obvious you didn't enjoy the movie, but to call people who did borderline retarded is a bit out of line don't you think? You're the one sounding like a 14 year old here.
Huh? I know plenty of people over 16 that didn't complain about so it must NOT be a problem, myself included. Stupid logic.

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
No im pretty comfortable with that statement. The people who liked it say nothing about plot, characters, directing, music, cinematography, lighting, dialogue....
They just say explosions. Explosions Explosions omg it was so cool with the Explosions. Anyone who walked out of that and was like "great movie" is just contributing to the hollywood scheme of shoving sex and violence down our throats. This isn't to say i don't love explosions, but i know for a fact there's a way to make a movie look cool and be good at the same time. That movie was fan service for people who are easily distracted by shiny exploding objects. If you drive by an accident and wonder why the traffic has slowed down even though the accident is off road, its probably the hundreds of people slowing down to look at the explosion, i call those people retards. The same logic applies in film.
I didn't go into Transformers expecting Citizen Kane, but i did go into it expecting something entertaining and for 2 hours i sat through that movie and was thoroughly not entertained, this is coming from a guy who liked the first one btw.

Dont tell me you didnt expect two hours of explosions and a lack of storyline

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Never said it was a "great movie", but it was entertaining to me. Lack a good plot? Yep. I thought the characters were fine and the acting was fine given what they had to go on.. not much. Music, liked it just the same as the first movie. Cinematography, IMO, was good.
I'm not a movie reviewer so I can't go into detail about the above, but can say I was entertained despit the lack of depth in the plot and overall movie. Do I enjoy movies with a lot more meaning, depth, plot, better characters, etc? Yep, sure do. But I still found this one enjoyable.
Oh well, guess I'm a retard. Ignorant statement.

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
in your opinion the cinematography was good? Angles, lighting, and shots play a huge roll in filming. I don't mean to turn into a snob here but if you are going to make that kind of statement you have to be able to go into detail and know what you are talking about. Im glad you were entertained despite the lack of plot and depth. Im glad that you found the Twins characters to be enjoyable. Im glad you found the acting was fine despite the horrible script they had to go on. Im glad that despite the numerous flaws you were entertained. Im sorry if those flaws among others just ruined the movie for me. Im sorry that i have higher standards with what it takes to entertain me. And im sorry you're a retard, acceptance is the first step i guess, if you need help...im here for you
by the end of this im just being an asshole clearly but if you are going to take what i said so literally and so offensively im going to play into it.

I never said I enjoyed the twins, but didn't find them racist or offensive. I do hold films to a higher standard, usually, just not one about transforming cars. I expected explosions and..well..thats about all I expected.
I didn't take offense, it was just a stupid comment. "Retards for being entertained by a movie." Come on seriously? I don't care if you were being serious or not, a dumb comment is dumb.

i don't think its a dumb comment. When all that dumb shit was going on and people were laughing or going "OH DAMN HE DID'"T" i felt like i was surrounded by a bunch of people with no brains. That is literally what it sounded like. There's no other way to put it because that is what it was. Therefore, anyone who else who was in whatever theater making the same noises and having the same reaction to the same dumb shit would just be counted among the people i was with and should be considered retarded.
