But still runs evrything smothly.
oblivion runs smoother on my pc than it does on my xbox (and it looks better on my pc). When it was released there was a problem that when you had too much speed and you ran through the country side it would struggle to keep up and load the next areas. It would freeze and show a loading message while it loaded it. If you were going fast enough it would do it every few seconds. There was a patch to fix this but it didnt fix it 100% foreveryone. I dont get this on my PC

You don't have shit with virusses, drivers, malfunctioning hardware if you don't fck around with the thing (xeption: xbox anyone, but I heared thats fixed now).
You seem to forget that pc gamers actually are supposed to buy the games too. Sure you can download anything but by the law you're expected to buy the games and movies legally, just like for a console.
Also, nearly everyone already owns a tv, while pc gamers need to buy a seperate monitor for that.
The new generation allows people to play online, in 2-4+ player splitscreen, LAN, and even though it may not be as massive as on the pc, chances are that will be alike in the near future.
Ofcourse pc's have more functions and you can download alot, but you can console game with just a tv, console, a game and 2 controllers.
For PC gaming this requires (for 2 people) 2 pc's, a LAN cable, 2 monitors, 2 games, input and output divices for both persons, thus costs more power, and space to put it, plus you have to bring everything to your friends house every time you play.
I'm a fan of both.
But console gaming has its charm and simplicity.
I can definitely agree with a lot of this. However, I really don't like playing multi-player console games on a split screen, especially if you're only on say a 19 inch TV. Split that up into 4 screens, and you don't have a lot of room left. Plus you can see your friends' screens, and they can see yours, giving advantages to each other that you shouldn't really have.
I shouldn't be able to "see through your eyes" to know where you are hiding in a deathmatch FPS.
As far as FPS goes, I'd much rather play that on a computer with a keyboard/mouse. I've played Quake3 Arena, Quake 2, Unreal Tournament and the like on a console, and I always had a harder time controlling movement.

That's a good point. It looks even worse on a 13-inch screen.
I've played F.E.A.R. on PC, and you get used to the feeling(me being a console player mostly). Even so, FPS and MMOs are about all I would want to play on a PC. Legend of Zelda just doesn't have the same feel as it does on a console.

The feel of a console, imo, can be had on a computer if you use a controller. I know they have USB controllers that match the feel of the playstation controllers pretty well. Not sure about matching other consoles though.
I always had a hard time doing things like circle-strafe moves on a console. Namely, where you strafe in circles around your target so they are always in site, but you are always moving. On a computer, I can strafe with arrows while rotating my view with the mouse so I don't lose site of the other player. On a console, rotating the view just seems slower, at least on older consoles (hold thumb stick left to somewhat slowly rotate, strafe with D-pad). Maybe it's better on newer ones.

Can 1 pc provide fun simontaniously for all your friends at your house? No, Wii Can.
No, I dont hate pc.
PCs sure do have a 6-axis controller. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMyZ3JK96Xo
So a PC doesn't have Halo 3 or Guitar Hero 3, but does a game console have SRO, other PC-only games?
I'm not sure what simontaniously is. There might not be any games (that I know of) that let 6 people play simultaneously on a PC, but it's certainly possible.

your retarded because you bought a computer. since the difference between graphic qualities is basically "nil" then why dont you just buy a console and use your TV as a monitor. wouldn't that save you more energy than buying some expensive computer that can match the graphic quality of an xbox 360 and an expensive hd monitor to go with it?
I have an xbox and a psp. between those ive spent about 250 bucks total.
I use emulators and homebrew software to play the games I want to play, like final fantasy and devil's crush

besides i dont feel like spending 1000$+ for a good comp.
My comp is dual core, good gfx card, 2g of ram, and has all the other junk I need (including mouse+keyboard, speakers, case). All bought for a total of around $600. It just depends on what you're buying, a console you can only by the Xbox and just that, you can't ever by pieces of an Xbox for cheap and then put it together like a PC.
I'd rather shell out the cash for a nice PC with better performance than a console than to spend ~500$ every other year getting a new console, plus 70$ games. And I'd rather upgrade my badass PC for ~200$ every couple years to keep it above console performance.
The only reason I would get a console is to play games that I can't play on my PC.

lol, everheard of "online gaming" >.> thats what were talking about here. Not LAN
Why play LAN? Unless you want to 1on1, LAN is useless otherwise. No one buys COD or BF2 for LAN. No offense, that was a pretty dumb point. Console cost: TV AND console and your game and your controllers.
PC cost: one laptop and your game
And lets leave "viruses" out of this-as long as you have firewall, be safe and clean, viruses and keyloggers arent a problem. Talking about a problem that occurs once a year isnt a big deal. Youre associating malfunctions with computers-so consoles are break-free? Like I said, as long as you have the sense to invest in a decent laptop from a good manufacturer, youre good to go.
Split-screen gives you a headache, and offers cheating options as well-if you know a map well enough, you'll be able to pinpoint where the other player is.

Dystopia wrote:southkorea321 wrote:No offense to all the console (xbox, playstation, nintendo etc) fans out there, you guys are getting ripped every moment of your life you play that game.
Why?
A console is basically a computer that uses a TV for its moniter. Its nothing more than that. A game on a TV screen rather than a computer screen. No big deal, right?
So using this handy piece of information, why the fu.ck are you playing video games on a console?
Youre literally paying for an incomplete computer when you buy a console. This big hype over new consoles is simply ridiculous. Why not just use a computer to play your games? All you need to buy is the game and download it for the PC.
Not to mention the controllers and the individual games you gotta buy to fully enjoy your console, you are losing money.
Multiplayer on console? Xbox Live? Bs. For most games, 8 or 16 max players on a map. On PC? Max 64 players. What seems more interesting?
The advantages of a console? None. Graphic quality difference between console and PC is nearly nil, as long as you have a smooth computer. Whats more mobile? The PC. What has more memory? The PC (and not those gay memory sticks you shove in a console to save your games). No hassle, no nothing.
Economically, youre saving money and saving the environment. A single computer alone generates shitloads of elctric bills-imagine using both a TV (to play those retarded sports games) and a computer (to play SRO)
More than twice the electric bill.
Trash those gay consoles and get a PC.
Okay, go ahead, play your 1st generation graphics on your 19" LCD screen, while I play my state-of-the-art playstation 3 on a 60" Plasma 1080p TV.
....save money you say...money is money, nothing more, you say it like its the air in your lungs the water you drink the salt in the earth money, is one thing a smart person can do without..
"A console has 'state of the art' technology, but of course, the crappy 1st generation computer doesnt". actually a really stupid comment...
Too bad not everyone can afford a top dog TV the way you do. Lol, if everyone could afford it, it wouldnt be "state of the art" for you.
Like I said before: console=computer. Its everything a computer is-just without the screen and a different controller.

SO WHAT? Then MEET the goddamn requirements, "noob"! Its not hard at ALL to buy a decent computer at a good price-I use a laptop to play sufficiently.
And I dont really care about your showoff definition of a "6 axis control" which I dont even know or care about. if you explained why it makes a console so much better, I would care.
There are very few games out there that can actually make multiplayer on a console fun. Really few. And it makes gaming much more boring. 4 players max, right? Thats your TV screen cut into four teeny pieces to have "fun", excluding games like Smash bros.
no one would buy a console just to play one game. whats so great about Halo 3? great storyline and gameplay-you can always play the previous Halo series. They will most likely make a Halo 3 for the PC.

consoles have a bigger game library and tend to have better exclusive games but it is cheaper to play them on the computer if you build it yourself since most people who own a console own a pc also
if there is a game for a console and pc i would usually rather play it on a console than having my face 1 foot from a computer screen damaging my eyes

psp-100 dollars for a refurbished one on sale at gamestop.
xbox-150 dollars
total-250 dollars
and who the hell doesn't have a tv already before they buy a console?
the thing is, I don't know many people that have random monitors sitting around for whenever they decide to go out and buy a computer.
another thing: you are asking us to go out and buy an expensive gaming pc if you want to match the graphics of a ps3 or xbox 360.

Its split between me. I didnt like consoles for some time, but when 360 got halo 2-3, idk, they are fun. And more people at school have 360's, so its fun to play with friends. Also, people who play consoles arent really "gamers", they just get them for fun.
So to sum it up
: friends
: more casual people
: halo 3
lol

Anyone who thinks console gamers aren't hardcore is seriously disrespecting. I don't see what makes PC so much more in depth that console can't keep up. What makes PC hardcore at all. The only difference is you have a keyboard and tons of buttons to work with. I think using a joystick to aim at ppl in FPS is alot harder than point and click. I think landing combos in Street Fighter Alpha is harder to do when you don't have macros on your side. Theres not a single PC game out there that you can't mod crack or cheat in. Try doing that with Halo 3 online and you'll find yourself without an account in no time not to mention the amount of time that would have to go into modding your Xbox whereas with a PC you just download Program A and run it. It take alot more effort and time to log hours into a good console game than it does for a PC game...
