Chinese and Australian search ships picked up "acoustic events" coming off the sea floor in two different search areas.... A possible signal pinging coming from the flight box recorder beacon...The pings heard by the Chinese search ship lasted 90 seconds and bears a frequency similar to that of flight recorders distress signals...
They're still investigating and waiting for the pings to return in order to get better verification...The problem is these flight box recorders have a battery life of about 1 month (2 days remaining). If the beacon stops sending out pings due to a loss of power then the search obviously gets way harder..
