But..WoW isn't a shitty MMO so your argument is invalid. I'm basing this off the fact that's it's been around for I think 7+ years now, not subscription numbers because the numbers of mindless MTV loving teenagers who watch Jersey Shore is probably far greater, sadly.

Also based on the fact that every other MMO that comes out these days is compared along side WoW in order to determine if it will even have a credible role in the MMO world, or if it will just die out like most other MMOs that aren't WoW.

The average age of a wowplayer is 30 according to the data I linked below. Granted a survey doesn't say everything, but it's better than nothing. (2010 data)
In 2005 the average age was 28.3 but females were older (32.5 vs males at 28)

First of all, GW1 was well known to be a success at it time. Hell it was WoW's main rival back in Vanilla WoW.

By saying GW2 will end up like GW would be to imply that they're the same game when if there's one thing people learn about GW2 is that it's nothing like it's predecessor.

Here's the funny thing. You mention how the Old Republic will be the only real competitor to WoW but really at the end, WoW won't even be part of this competition. The only thing people talk about is Old Republic and GW2. They both offer innovative features unlike the other that tried to get at the throne. Face it, WoW is not offering anything new to this next wave of MMOs.

You talk about fanboyism when you're blatantly showing yours. We both know WoW won't last forever, not because of other coming out but because of the choices the game designers are making.

To be honest, I kind of know where you're coming from. I've seen the last waves of people thinking that their game is going to be the next WoW killer (Aion, Warhammer, AoC, Rift,etc.) yelling around the WoW forums and it's only natural to laugh at them. I'm probably just another GW fanboy to you but here we're talking about a real competitor. Every other MMO that claimed to be WoW killers tried to offer the same exact game than WoW and that's why they miserably failed. If we take GW2 for example (I don't know much about KOTOR), the game is totally different from WoW (Fast-paced & action oriented, minimal hotkey use, skill-dependant,etc.).

TL;DR : Inform yourself about a game before taking a stance on it.

Main rival to WoW when WoW was at it's lowest in subscription numbers. WoW has only continued to grow since then whereas GW1 has died off just like every other "WoW killer." GW2 won't be an exception.

That's the thing though. They don't offer innovative features. Sure they'll introduce old features which may have been polished up here or there, but fundamentally these games are essentially reskinned WoW. The hype about them will die off after the first month or so just like it did with Aion and now Rift.

Yeah you're not going to hear hype about the game that's at the top of it's genre and has been for years now. Of course you're only going to hear about the next big thing to be introduced to us.
But what you WILL hear is any other MMO, including GW2 and SWTOR, being compared against WoW. That's how you know you have a timeless game.

Who the **** cares about WoW vs GW? The fact that if you are over 12, you won't have the free time for any of those games unless you totally disregard life, is more than enough for me to say; All MMOs are shitty.

I'm 21, work full time, and can still allocate the time to raid 8 hours a week while still keeping a great social life.

In the sense that while it may have polished some stuff WoW already has, I can't imagine it would offer anything entirely new. Rift offered the open world random grouping and it wasn't a huge success. GW2 better bring about a whole new style of MMO in order to survive. Granted, I haven't personally done any research about GW2, but I saw how GW1 turned out.
