Pretty disappointed with some people from SRF. I'm not saying people should lock themselves up in their room all day and cry about what happened but some people just take full advantage of their anonymity. You know who you are.

Explosions happening now. Seems minor.

this just now an hour ago: "0254: To recap, in the past hour we have had reports of a new tsunami which appears to have been a false alarm, and a blast has wrecked a wall at a nuclear reactor but its containment vessel withstood the impact. We also had reports of 2,000 bodies found on the tsunami-ravaged north-eastern coast."

but the quote below worries me. no confirmation on radio active leak?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12729138

"Japan's nuclear safety agency said the blast was believed to have been caused by the build-up of hydrogen. However, the agency said it could not confirm whether there had been an uncontrolled leak of radioactivity. "

edit: according to a dutch news site, there was "10000 times higher than normal" radio activity near that power plant after one of the explosions and a dozen ppl have been confirmed to have radiation poisoning and the government is handing out Iodine pills to ppl around there.

pfffffffffff, people concentrate too much on war weapons that they'll later destroy themself. Nuclear is enough already, no need for more massive destruction weapon.

Incoming 2012, China creates a blackhole and suck all.

Yeah...there's a reason why they never reproduced or made a stronger version of the Tsar Bomb, which was originally supposed to be twice the yield if it wasn't for the risk of a more devastating nuclear fallout. The only use I see for owning a 100MT bomb is if you want to wipe out a couple million people just to suffer a worse backlash.

I feel you. Not about the anime part. I think anime is dumb. Regardless.

My Facebook news feed is being blown up with Japan stuff posted by people who really don't care; they just want to make it seem to their friends that they do care and are up to date on stuff around the world.

that's just how humans are. if it doesn't concern them, they don't give a sh!t. I see the same here in Holland. Everyone is 'concerned' about Japan when in fact before the earthquake no one gave a sh!t about Japan and it's people.

and the happenings of the past few days confirm my statements. it seems like no one talkes about the earthquake and tsunami anymore. everybody seems to have forgotten all the victims. since the nuclear problem became a real threat and could possibly become a threat for other countries, everyone is talking about that because it concerns them and their safety.

That is a natural behaviour. ofcourse am i more concerned about myself than about people that i have never seen and probably never will be seeing.
Some may call it cruel or cold or whatever, but i would be living a quite depressing life when i am waking up everyday and my first thought would be: "Horrible, again houndreds of thousand people died because of murder, starvation and avoidable illnesses."
We will always be concerned a few days and then move on with our lives cause we have too.

true and I am aware of that. but the thing that bothers me is the fake behaviour of so many people. it almost looks like it's 'cool' to worry about the people in Japan, it's like the new thing. if you don't really care about these people, that's oke and totally understandeble. but please don't act like you're worried just cause you want to be part of the hype.
