Can you explain this mentality a bit more just so i can understand the thought process behind it?

What does marrying someone of the same race accomplish that marrying someone of a different race would not?

I can trace my family name back to the 1100s. There's a sort of identity I don't my family to lose. Think of it like somebody who gets upset when their country is being overrun by immigrants and diluting their culture and history.

How would you be letting your family down if you married someone of a different race? Does what your family thinks of who you're dating mean so much to you that would turn down someone who is completely compatible with you only they're a different race?

My family doesn't care who I date, and I really don't have a preference as far as race. I just don't want to contribute to that idea that "in the future everyone will be the same gray blob, no one will have an identity" etc. etc.

It's really more than that, but that's the basic motivation behind it. It mostly has to do with the respect I have for my family's history.

I think some of you guys need to check yourselves and deeply/seriously ask why you're not attracted to a person because of their race. It's actually ridiculous because every one of us has the capacity to fall for anyone because we're all HUMAN.

You're under the total influence of cultural engineering if you began feel its odd to date outside your race. This type of brainwashing is no different than other forms of prejudice.

You're relationship with your girlfriend/boyfriend wouldn't meaningful if part of the reason why you love her/him was because he/she wasn't Black/White/Asian/Latin etc.

I'm not saying it is not OK to have a preference but what is true basis of that preference should be understood.

Wow, why didn't I see this before. Or maybe I did and I'm too damn busy.

I'm mixed race Inuit with German and others, my gf is some Swedish, Norwegian, English, Polish mix. I don't look like a European or WASP but I don't look Indian either, somewhere in between. Anyway, should it really matter what race we are, cultural differences notwithstanding I don't see any reason to hate on each other.

To those saying they wouldn't date outside their own race, is it because you don't know or are unfamiliar with the culture? see, I dated an Asian girl for awhile a long time ago and she was really old-school w/ the whole family respect and all that, and I thought that was cool. But her family didn't really get in to what I am, I'm not really keeping my heritage either, I don't go to drum dances or w/e. It's not the path I follow and there's nothing in the city that really helps me with my roots.
